“Cara said she’s meeting you at the clubhouse to give Rake the bike. Are you going to record his reaction?” Con asks as she joins us.

Natalie nods. “Yeah, I will. Mom doesn’t even know we got it for him. I don’t know how we’re going to top this for his next birthday.”

“I don’t know, either,” Cam laughs. “I designed a bike for Orion last year and now I think he expects one every year. Now, you said you’re riding the bike back to the clubhouse—did you want one of us to drive the car back to your house for you?”

I speak before thinking. “I can drive the car for her. I can drive it to the clubhouse so she has a ride home. I’ve been meaning to catch up with Rhett anyway.”

“What?” Natty asks, brow furrowing. “You want to drive all the way to the Wind Dragons clubhouse?”

I shrug. “What can I say? We offer exceptional customer service here.”

“Are you feeling okay?” Cam asks me, brow furrowing.

“Never better.”

“Have you two met before?” she asks nosily.

“I was wondering the same thing,” Con mutters.

“Yeah, we met a few nights ago actually,” I update. “We are...friends.”

Okay, not exactly.

Natalie looks like she doesn’t know if she wants to laugh or slap me. I realize it’s a regular expression she has around me. “Friendsis a very...strong word.”

“I see,” Con murmurs, hiding her smile.

“Okay.” Cam turns back to Natalie. “You ready to see her?” she asks, bouncing in excitement.

Natalie nods, and we all walk over to the center of the warehouse, where Cam moved the bike. She pulls the white sheet off the first one, revealing a matte black bike with touches of red that has to be some of Cam’s best work. The highlight, though, is the Wind Dragons emblem that she has painted in detail on the seat.

“Oh my god, Cam. It’s perfect. He’s going to love it.” Natalie beams, running her short black nails across the seat. She glances up with a wide smile, her dark hair falling over her cheek. “And I love the red rims—I’m glad we went with those. I’m going to take a photo to send to Cara.”

Aries comes and stands next to me. “What did I miss?”

“Princess over here is here to pick up her father’s bike and I offered to drive her car back to the clubhouse for her.”

Aries looks at me, confused. “Why would you do that? I though you said she was judgmental and you didn’t want anything to do with her.”

“I don’t know,” I admit, rubbing the back of my neck.

Why did I offer? I have no answer.

Maybe it’s for Fast & Fury. All the Wind Dragons will want a custom bike after seeing this one.

Maybe I’m just drawn to this evil woman and want to be around her for some reason.

See, bad taste in women.

I cannot be trusted.

We help her get the bike out the front, and I watch as she gets a leather jacket and helmet out of her black RAV4. She was serious—she’s going to ride the motorcycle back to the Wind Dragons clubhouse, which is a two-hour ride.

And so am I.

“So, am I driving your car for you?” I offer up, like I don’t have any managerial responsibilities here. I mean, Aries can hold down the fort. Pros of having your twin brother as a co-manager. Aries is right—I never thought I’d be driving a car while a woman is on the bike, but I’m always up for new experiences.

“It’s fine. I was just going to leave it here and pick it up tomorrow or something,” she says, considering my offer. “Aren’t you working right now?”
