“Can I buy you a drink?” he asks, and I feel like I’m having déjà vu.

I arch my brow and cross my arms, stepping back from him a little. “You don’t quit, do you? Those two women last night not enough for you?”

His brows draw together. “Last night? What two women?”

“Yes. I told you I wasn’t interested last night, and here is your confirmation that nothing has changed,” I reply, flashing him a big smile.

I leave him standing there and go to the bathroom. I said no yesterday—did he think today was a new day and I might change my mind? I don’t understand men sometimes, and that’s probably a good thing, because it means that I’m still sane.

When I return to our table, the man is standing in front of Decker and Cara, talking and laughing with them.

“It’s nice to see you guys. I think the last time was for some event Abbie hosted at the clubhouse,” I hear him say, giving Decker a handshake, one they must have learned and practiced over time. He then fist-bumps Cara and looks over as he sees me approaching.

Cara follows his line of sight and introduces us. “Atlas, this is my baby sister, Natty. Natty, Atlas is a friend of ours.”

Of course they know him.

“Baby sister,” he mutters, before smiling and offering me his hand. “Lovely to officially meet you, Natty.”

“It’s Natalie.” Is he going to pretend last night never happened?

Okay, I can play it that way.

Blue eyes stare into mine, and when I give him my hand, he lifts it to his lips and kisses it instead of shaking it like I suspected. He’s wearing a different cologne from last night, but has the same sexy smile. He is not fooling me.

“Officially?” Cara asks, brow furrowing.

“Yeah, we just bumped into each other,” he says, at the same time I say, “Yeah, he tried to hit on me last night.”

He smirks. “I think I would’ve remembered meeting you last night.”

This infuriates me. How can he lie like that?

“Look, Atlas—what kind of name is Atlas anyway? Do you have maps memorized? Can you give me directions anywhere I need?” Cara almost spits out her drink. “I know you couldn’t even fathom that someone could reject you, but guess what? I did, so you can take your ego and kiss my...”

As I’m about to finish my epic tirade, another man walks up behind him and claps him on the back. A man who looks just like him.

Everyone is silent as they watch me process what is happening.

Atlas’s lip twitches. “You must have met my twin brother, Aries, last night.”

Shit.

Chapter Two

Atlas

I can’t hide my amusement at Natalie mistaking me for Aries. Not like it’s never happened before, but it appears Aries didn’t get on her good side, which makes sense as to why she gave me the cold shoulder when I asked her if I could buy her a drink.

Aries laughs under his breath. “You! I remember you.”

“I bet,” she says, looking me straight in the eye, her chin lifted up, showing me that she knows she’s made a mistake but isn’t going to be embarrassed about it. She tucks her dark hair back behind her ear. I don’t know what it is about this woman, but she instantly has me intrigued.

“So you’re Rake’s other daughter?” I ask, watching her lips move. She’s so expressive, every emotion she’s feeling plainly displayed on her beautiful face.

“Yes, I’m theotherdaughter,” she replies in a dry tone. She turns to her sister, her long dark lashes hiding her dramatic green eyes. “Is this what I’m going to be known as from now? It’s like high school all over again.”

Cara laughs. “There are worse things to be known as, Natty.”
