She shakes her head. “No, I’m only assisting, so I’ll always be with the lead attorney.”

Relief fills me. “Thank fuck.”

She laughs under her breath. “You know my mom and Aunty Faye told me you would come here tonight. I didn’t believe them.”

“They did?” I ask, surprised. “And how did they know that?”

“I guess they know bikers. But I think they thought you would just ride in here, without even messaging me first, make some demands and drag me back to your place or something,” she adds, turning to me with a smile. “I’m glad that you didn’t do that.”

“I wouldn’t dare,” I reply, lip twitching. She leaves her chair to sit on my lap, wrapping her arms around my neck.

“We survived our first fight,” she muses, kissing my jawline.

I grab her face and kiss her on the lips. “I didn’t enjoy it, although I’m going to enjoy the makeup sex when I get you back home.” She moans as my lips move across her neck. “You better be quiet or maybe Iwilldrag you back home.”

She smiles and arches her neck even more.

Little tease.

“Natty?” I hear Rake’s voice call out, and she jumps off my lap faster than I’ve ever seen her move.

“Out here,” she calls back, clearing her throat.

I grab a cushion and use it to cover my obvious hard-on.

He steps out and eyes us both. “What are you both doing out here?”

“Talking,” I reply. “I’m about to head back to the clubhouse now.”

“Mine or yours?” he asks in a dry tone.

“Yours.”

He nods. “All right, then, good night.”

“Night, Dad,” she replies, then turns back to me.

I get up and pull her up with me. “I better go. What time are you leaving tomorrow? I’ll ride back with you.”

“Early, maybe six?”

“Okay, message me when you’re heading off.”

“Okay.” She smiles and leans in for a kiss. I kiss her deeply, sensually, and then walk away, leaving her breathless.

I’m glad I followed my gut and came here to speak with her.

She’s worth the drive. And more.

Twenty minutes later I walk into the Wind Dragons MC like I own it and find Rhett playing pool with Dice.

“How did it go?” Rhett asks, offering me a beer.

“It went well. I think we are more on the same page now,” I admit.

“Good. I like you for her,” he replies with a grin. “I ordered us some pizza.”

“Thanks.”
