I go silent. I don’t know the newer members enough to comment on it. “Who does he think it is?”

“He’s not sure yet, but the timing of both attacks is too much of a coincidence for him. And someone knew exactly where Sledge was located when he was watching Marko, and only the members of the MC knew that.”

“Someone could have just followed him,” I think out loud.

“Yeah, but paired with the fact that both attacks on their clubs happened when Rhett was in there? Rhett thinks it’s a setup and someone is feeding Marko information,” he says, placing his hand on the small of my back and leading me toward the door. “Don’t tell anyone this. We need to keep it on the down low until we figure it all out.”

“Yeah, of course,” I reply, but inside I feel ill. The Wind Dragons are my family, and the thought of someone not being loyal to them, someone around the people I love every day, makes my stomach churn.

“Does Dad know?” I ask when we get inside.

Atlas nods. “Yeah, he does.”

It has to be Bear, Sledge, Dice or Zeke. But Bear was shot, so maybe not him. Dice is very close to Rhett and is his second-in-command, so I really hope it’s not him.

What a blow for the new generation of the Wind Dragons.

I hope they find out who it is, and fast.

“CJ wants to be the one to take Marko out himself,” Atlas also adds. “I don’t know what’s going to happen; this whole thing is one big mess.”

“It will be okay,” I promise him.

How many men does it take to kill one psychopath?

I feel like I’m in a fucking horror movie, and we’re almost at the climax.

I just need to make sure everyone I love is standing at the end of it.

Chapter Twenty-Two

Atlas

CJ: We have five more members missing. People are going back to him.

Atlas: You need to do something to keep them on your side. Feed them lies. I don’t care.

Aries: Tell them we’ll treat them the same as Marko when we find them.

CJ: Working on it.

After spending the day with Natalie, I check the perimeter of her apartment and then ride back to the clubhouse. I sit down with Temper and update him on everything going on, and then Aries and I go over security footage from all our clubs.

“We need to one-up Marko,” I say out loud. “We’ve been chasing our tails ever since he got out. We need a more calculated plan.”

“What happened with the mother of his child?” Aries asks.

“She’s in prison as far as I know. So she couldn’t be helping him. I think Rhett already looked into that.”

“He has to be set up somewhere—we need to find where his base is. Maybe we should start following members of the Wind Dragons and see which one leads us to Marko,” Aries suggests, and my brows rise.

“We can’t tell Rhett, because it might get back to the wrong person.”

Aries nods. “Yep. But we’d have to stay over in their town.”

“Maybe we could just send someone,” I wonder, rubbing my hands together in thought. “We need to get him before he gets us.”

“Is Natalie safe being at home alone?” he asks, frowning. “We know he knows where she lives.”
