“Only the best for my Belle.”

My cheeks flush at how dumb that sounded, but Belle doesn’t think it does. Not from the way she plasters herself against me, her lips smacking onto mine, tongue thrusting deep like she wants inside me—now. Snow be damned.

She makes me forget, and I didn’t realize how badly I needed that.

Unfortunately for me, she doesn’t just make me forget about my brother, but my sisters too.

As I half drag her down the street, pulling our baggage in between kisses, finally making it to my building, my hands juggling between the curve of her ass and the key I’m trying to get out of my pocket, the door pushes open before I can do dick.

I only know because gravity has us tumbling backward, and as I’ve pinned Belle to the door, we go flying.

Straight into the street where one of the railings outside keeps us upright.

Barely.

“Cade!” Kitty shrieks. “What the fuck are you doing creeping around the front door?”

Jesus fuck, of course it had to be Kitty.

Not Neev or Róisín.

Nope, Kitty.

God fucking hates me.

“You moron,” Kitty snarls when I don’t answer. “What the fuck were you thinking?”

I scowl at her. “Do you have to be so goddamn loud, Kitty? What is it with your voice box? Do you have a loudspeaker installed in there?”

Belle blinks at me, then at Kitty. “Wh—”

“My sister,” I grumble. “Catriona Caitlin. Kitty for short.”

My sister is the perfect cat.

She’s a pain in my ass, quick to swipe out with her claws, always lands on her feet (hallways not included), and she has nine lives, meaning there’s no chance of ever escaping her.

I scrub a hand over my face. “This is Isabelle.”

Kitty sniffs at me, but to Belle, she’s pretty polite. “Isabelle, it’s a pleasure to meet you. What someone as beautiful as yourself is doing with a pig like Cade is beyond me—”

“And I wonder why I’d have preferred to stay at a hotel tonight,” I gripe. “You’re so great for my ego—”

A chuckle escapes Belle but she stifles it by slapping a hand over her mouth when I gawk at her.

Whose side is she on here?

Ignoring her, Kitty drawls, “You’ve got the charm of a swine, Cade. What can I say? I call it how I see it.”

“I know you do. That’s your problem, Kitty,” I snipe. “Why are you sneaking out at one in the morning, anyway? I bet Ma would love to hear about that.”

“Just like she’d love to hear about Belle, I’m sure,” she growls.

Belle’s face whips from side to side as my sister and I serve each other several doses of shade. I can tell by the glee in her eyes that she loves it. I would have known, without a damn investigation into her, that she doesn’t have any brothers or sisters because a kid who didn’t grow up with siblings is the only type of person who can appreciate a spat like this.

Family—you’ve gotta fucking love them.

“I’m sure she would. Belle, do you like crepes? Ma makes the best crepes. She’ll probably cook for you in the morning anyway,” I say dismissively.
