Amused, I turn her away. She does not need to see herself in this way any longer.

Babbling, she drones on and on about how she looks, and how she wishes for that shower, all the while I slowly pull her away from the mortal realm and carry her to the afterworld. Morgan, of course, doesn’t realize what I have done until all the light has seeped away and we’re surrounded by darkness.

“Uh, Grimm?”

“Yes?”

“Where are you taking me?”

I contemplate this for a moment. I amsupposedto take her to where all souls go, but Morgan is mine. This is against the nature of things, but abandoning her now after she has done so much to claim me would feel more of an abomination than the relationship budding between us.

“Home,” I tell her.

“So you’re keeping me then?”

“Of course I am keeping you. You are mine. My little human. My little soul.”

She nudges me with her arm. “Iknewyou fell in love with me.”

“What choice did you give me?” I say, feigning a grumble.

“Can we still celebrate Christmas at least?” she asks.

“We can do whatever you want,” I tell her, handing her hat back and pulling out mine.

She helps me place mine comfortably on my head, where it belongs, and with that, I guide my precious heart into the darkness, pulling her further away from the mortal realm and all the things that used to make up her life. She will carve a new one here, with me by her side.

For all of eternity.

The End.
