“It was the least I could do. For both of you.”

“Appreciated.”

“Just… take care of her heart, Holden. That’s all I ask.”

“I will. I promise.”

Austin held out his hand, and I shook it, letting him pull me into a one-armed hug. “I guess that makes us as good as family,” he said.

“Hey, now, don’t jump the gun. We’re taking things slow.”

“Slow my ass,” Connor yelled. “I give it six months, and you’ll be begging her to move in with you.”

“No way, Morgan. I love living with you guys. Besides, if anyone’s moving out soon, it’s you.”

“Well, I guess the race is on then.” He winked. “May the best man win.”

“You need to shut the fuck up before you’re both homeless.” Austin grimaced, running a hand over his head.

“Or I have an even better idea,” Connor grinned. “Why not just ask Aurora to move back in?”

“Oh, hell no. Quit it with this shit too.” Austin stomped off toward the showers, and Connor dropped down on the bench beside me.

“Things with Austin, okay?”

“Yeah, I think so.”

“Good. Because I really didn’t want to spend the rest of the year playing referee to the two of you. You and Rory coming to TPB to celebrate, or do you have celebration plans of your own?”

“We’re going to stop by the bar for a little bit.”

But not too long because I had plans.

Plans that didn’t involve spending the night with our family and friends.

AURORA

“There she is.” Noah banded his arm around me and pulled me back against his chest, nuzzling my neck. “I missed you.”

Turning in his arms, I gazed up at him, my heart fluttering wildly the way it did whenever Noah was close by. “You promised.”

“I know, I know. But the asshole deserved it.”

“It was kind of satisfying seeing Austin beat the crap out of him.” I glanced over to my brother, and he lifted his beer in the air.

“God, I love you,” Noah grinned, lowering his mouth to mine and kissing me.

My hands slid to his chest, ready to push him away because he was kissing me in public, in the middle of a bar, surrounded by our friends and family. But my fingers curled into his jersey, tugging him closer.

“Good girl,” he whispered against my lips. “I want every single person here to know you’re mine, shortcake.”

“Even the puck bunnies?”

“Definitely the puck bunnies.”

“Okay, Holden. Let my sister up for air,” Austin grumbled, and I buried my face in Noah’s shoulder, chuckling.

“He’s a pain in the ass.”
