“Noah, what are you—”

“I’m glad Ryan turned out to be an asshole because now I won’t feel bad about doing this.”

Gliding my hand along the side of her neck, I kissed her. Slicking my tongue into her mouth and taking what I’d wanted ever since tasting her last weekend. Aurora went tense, and for a second, I thought she might fight me. But she melted against me, sliding her hands up my chest and kissing me back.

Fuck, she felt good, pressed up against me, her tongue soft and eager. Sliding one hand down her spine, I grabbed a handful of her plump ass and pulled her onto my waiting boner.

“If you need any reassurance that you get me hot, shortcake, here it is.”

“Noah,” she choked on my name, and an image of her on her knees, choking on my favorite body part, filled my mind.

Shit, Holden. Slow down. Don’t scare her away.

Aurora was fragile, that much was obvious, and I knew I needed to handle her with care. I had absolutely no problem with that though. I could take my time with her. Teach her. Guide her.

But like a bucket of ice water, she rasped, “Austin, Connor—”

“Not sure I like hearing you moan another man’s name when my lips are on your skin, shortcake.”

She fisted my t-shirt and shoved me gently. “What if they come home?”

“Then you’d better be quiet when I make you come all over my fingers.” I slid my hand around her front and cupped her pussy through her panties.

Aurora’s knees buckled, but I was there to catch her.

“Oh my God, you can’t say that.” She blushed, and I had the strongest urge to strip her bare to see if she turned the same shade of pink everywhere.

“Just did, shortcake. And there’s plenty more where that came from.” I dropped a kiss on the end of her nose, but she’d gone tense again.

“What are we doing, Noah?” Her eyelashes fluttered. The pink streaks along her cheeks darkening.

“You want the truth, shortcake?” She nodded, and my chest grew tight. “This is a terrible idea.” I touched my head to hers, breathing her in. “You’re my best friend’s sister. I’m a hockey player. I don’t date. And you don’t date hockey players anymore.”

“You’re right”—a faint smile traced her mouth—“it is a terrible idea.”

“A really, really bad idea.” I lowered my mouth over hers, a whisper of a kiss. “We should probably stop.”

“We should definitely stop.” Aurora went up on her tiptoes and curled her arms around my shoulders, holding on as if she might never let go.

We stayed like that, staring at each other, breathing each other’s air, kissing, but not kissing.

Until something snapped.

I don’t know who moved first, but we crashed together in a kiss as hard and unrelenting as my dick straining behind my sweats. My hands were everywhere, in her hair, mapping her curves, tracing the lines of her body.

“Fuck, you’re sexy,” I drawled, smirking at her as she tried to steal another kiss.

“Don’t tease me, Noah.”

“That’s half the fun, shortcake.” My hand slipped under Aurora’s t-shirt, stroking her warm skin. But it wasn’t enough. I wanted to see her again—to memorize every inch of her body.

Curling my fingers around the hem of her t-shirt, I started to work it up her stomach, but she grabbed my hands. “Don’t…”

“Shortcake,” I whispered the word onto her lips, “let’s get one thing straight. I love your body. I love your curves. I love your ass and your tits. God, I love your tits.”

“Oh my God,” she let out a quiet, nervous chuckle. “You’re crazy.”

“About you. I’m crazy about you, Aurora. I know shit is complicated. I know there’s a bunch of stuff that we should probably figure out before we go any further, but don’t you ever just want to say to hell with it all and just live in the moment?”
