Raven was a doctor. Wasn’t what he would consider high maintenance.

Still, she took care of herself.

And he liked her efforts.

So, he could be the one to give.

Plus, she had that shower.

Grinning, he kissed her neck again, straightening and thinking about how to convince her to let him move in when they’d only been together a couple of months now.

He glanced down, spying the curves of her breasts plumped out of the top of the towel.

He had a few ideas.

Convincing her would be fun.

“Just a reminder,” he said, focusing on more important things (like not nudging that towel to the floor and making them both late), “I’m meeting Lex after we get off for a drink.”

She scowled, Lex still very much on her shit list.

Lex had apologized to Frankie, and they were apparently okay now—apparentlymorethan okay, if Lex hanging around Frankie’s shopall the fucking timeand watching her like a hawk at gatherings was any indication.

Raven had told him that Frankie had told the girls she’d accepted Lex’s apology, but they could all see that she wasn’t trying anymore, wasn’t dressing up or looking longingly over at Lex when she thought he wasn’t looking. There were no red cheeks and short dresses. No glancing up at him through her lashes. No heels. No curls. No eye shit.

Just Frankie.

And Lex was…well, he was a making an effort in a way that meant he was making aneffort.

Which meant, they were next.

Connor knew it.

Everyonedid.

Raven just hadn’t accepted that fact yet.

“I’ll get you some meds,” hiswoman muttered grumpily. “You can spike his drink.”

Connor chuckled, kissed her jaw. “Stop his heart?”

“Uh-uh.” She tilted her head to the side, giving him better access to her throat. “That’s too easy,” she grumbled. “Laxatives. All the way.”

He grinned. “Brutal, baby.”

She turned in the circle of his arms, nose wrinkled. “He hurt Frankie.”

“He was a dick, owned up to it, and is now trying to be better.”

Her nose wrinkled further. “Why do you have to be logical?”

“It’s a gift.”

A sigh. “Well, it’s an annoying one.” Her arms wound around his middle, squeezed. “Especially when I can’t hold it against him forever.”

“I’m afraid that’s true.”

“Ugh.” She scowled. “It would be easier if he wasn’t so damned yummy, all big and strong andmanly.”
