“Or you me!” Henrietta retorted.

“Hey, Emile brought me a zombie!” Harcourt scowled, and Emile elbowed him.

“Dear God, they are children!” Tristian added, rolling his eyes.

“Remember when I brained you with a vase? Can be done again if you get too big for your boots!” Abigail warned Tristian.

“At least you didn’t drown me in a lake,” Daniel said to Sabine.

“I dyed you blue, Papa Smurf!” Sabine rebutted.

“That damned lake!” St John cursed and stared at Henrietta.

“Oh, shush, or you won’t spank me tonight!” Henrietta glared.

St John shushed.

“Hey, you weren’t tarred and feathered!” Nicholas spoke, sending a look at Melisandre.

“Then don’t be a donkey’s ass!” Melisandre retorted.

“I was willing to die for you!” Jeremy stated to Lavinia.

“Idiot!” Lavinia snapped. “I did die for you!”

“Shut up. I hate to be reminded of that!” Jeremy responded.

“You planned to have a child with a surrogate!” Lavinia sniped angrily and folded her arms.

Lucian sat back, watching them all, before he started laughing uncontrollably.

“Will you all just shut the hell up and let me celebrate Benedict’s return to life?” Mariah grumbled as Benedict also laughed underneath her.

His hands lifted her, and she helped him sit up.

“Honestly, can’t a man kiss his beloved without interference?” Benedict asked.

“Oh, what do you understand about kisses being interfered with?” Harcourt complained.

“Dear Gods, children!” Tristian said, raising his eyes to the heavens.

Mariah kept a careful watch over Benedict. Everywhere he went, her gaze followed him. She wasn’t sure what had happened. She’d not interacted with the angels like everyone else had. There had been a bright flash, and then Benedict was by her side, looking whole and healthy. Mariah believed where she hadn’t before. Lady Catherine was in a tizzy, and the Black Cat continued glowing in happiness one minute before little shimmers of light erupted the next.

Luckily, there was no sign of Klaus Anderson’s body. Benedict admitted it was placed in the dungeon Vemis had been kept in. It would never be discovered, and there was no trace of blood anywhere in the inn. Lady Catherine had managed that feat.

Mariah had been entertained by Maggie questioning Lady Catherine about many things. Maggie was even amused that her inn, the Jekyll and Hyde, was haunted by her mother Katherine, and there was a Lady Catherine at the Black Cat.

Mariah had tried handing back the pendant, but Lady Catherine insisted she keep it.

The four witches had celebrated with them long into the night until everyone left to return home. Or, in the Rakehell Six’s case, the Jekyll and Hyde as it was fully furnished.

“I fell in love with you when you defended me against my ex,” Mariah said to Benedict as they undressed in her bedroom.

“And I fell in love with you the first time you chased Klaus Anderson off. I was too stubborn to admit it,” Benedict replied.

“And now we have eternity together,” Mariah sighed happily.
