“Of course, Your Highness,” he says before clearing off the table and wheeling the cart into the kitchen.

As I wait patiently for my pageboy to arrive, I can’t stop thinking about Kitty. God, that woman’s curves go on for days. I love that she isn’t a twig like most of the women in Europe. She’s got some extra cushion, which is perfect for me to hold on to. She’s a sexy BBW, and just the thought of her gets my dick hard.

My pageboy shuffles into the dining room, seeming a bit nervous. “You requested my presence, Your Highness?” he stammers with a bow.

“Yes, I need you to deliver something for me.” Then, I scribble a note before folding it and handing it back to him.

“Deliver it to the same woman as before, and make sure no one sees you,” I order.

“Yes, Your Highness,” he says as he bows again. Then, the boy runs off, disappearing from sight.

I sigh. I hope my letter finds Kitty well and that she's just as excited for our next meeting as I am. Everyone knows me as a playboy, but she makes me want to change my ways. I want to be good forher. If Kitty will just give me a chance, then I'll give her the world.

CHAPTER10

Kitty

Ihum to myself as I dust off furniture in the throne room. I've been in a great mood all day, and I'd be lying if I said that it wasn't thanks to Eric. Our evening together keeps flashing in my brain over and over again, and I haven't been able to stop smiling. Luckily, my parents were sound asleep when I crept back into the house at the crack of dawn. I got into bed, but couldn’t get any sleep because I was so excited. Instead, I got up bright and early, feeling sore, but at least it's the good kind of sore. It's the kind that leaves you craving more.

I don't regret one second I spent with Eric last night – he made me feel like a woman, and he treated me like a queen. He did things to my body that I didn't even know were possible. Thank goodness his walls are soundproof because my moans were so loud, they would have woken up the entire kingdom.

Now, I sing to myself while dusting off an embroidered chair. I know it sounds crazy, but I feel like I'm falling for him. Maybe I'm silly to think that he could ever love me too, but a part of me thinks I stand a chance at winning his heart. There's a connection between us that I just can't describe, but I know he can feel it too. When we made love last night, our bodies joined as one, and our hearts melded too. That makes me stop short.

Do you hear yourself, Kitty?a voice whispers in my ear. You’re insane! You’ve been reading too many romance novels.

That may be true, but still, I know something was there. I know Eric has a reputation as a player, but there's a connection between us that really, truly exists. Last night wasn't just a one night stand; it was the beginning of something much deeper than either of us have ever felt before.

I continue to hum as I dust the King’s throne. Just then, the stammering pageboy who delivered Eric's letter to me yesterday stumbles into the throne room. He's just as nervous as he was the last time I saw him.

“Hi,” I say in a gentle tone. “How are you?” I step down from the throne and walk over to him. He digs into his pocket and pulls out a folded piece of stationary.

“For you,” he stammers.

“Thank you,” I say, trying to hold back my smile. It must be from Eric.

“You’re welcome,” he says before scampering away. I look around to make sure no one is looking and then carefully unfold the note.

I smile as I read it to myself. Eric wants to meet again. Oh gosh. Just thinking about being in his arms again makes my heart pulse and my thighs squeeze together. Of course, I’m at work, and I shouldn’t be having these naughty thoughts, but I can’t help it. I wish I could see him right now, but it’ll have to wait until tonight.

“What is that?” Mary barks from over my shoulder, startling me.

“Nothing,” I stammer. Oh no! How long has my manager been standing there? I didn’t even hear her come in. I quickly fold the note and stuff it into my pocket, but it’s too late – she’s already seen me with it.

“Really?” she frowns. “Somehow, I find that hard to believe.” Oh my gosh! I can’t believe this is happening because if she finds out the truth, we’ll be over, and I’ll lose my job. What do I say? I can feel sweat beads forming on my forehead as I try to come up with a lie.

“Um… it’s just a grocery list. I have to run to the market after my shift,” I lie.

“Why is your grocery list written on official royal stationary?” she questions, eyes narrowing. Shit, I didn’t think of a reason why when I came up with this lie. I feel like I’m in boiling water, and I don’t know how I’m going to get myself out of this.

“I’m so sorry. I know I shouldn’t have, but it was the closest thing to me at the time, so I just grabbed a piece and quickly jotted down my list,” I say, trying to sound as remorseful as possible. Mary studies me for a bit, as if she’s trying to figure out whether or not I’m telling the truth.

“Well, don’t let it happen again,” she finally grunts. “The royal family’s property is not for our personal use.” I nod and then quickly return to dusting. The middle-aged woman watches me for a bit, making me feel nervous. Maybe she didn’t really buy my story? Or maybe someone told her that they saw me sneaking around the castle last night? Whatever the case may be, she’s got her eyes on me like an eagle watching its prey.

I try to keep calm, but my manager’s stare is intimidating. What could be going through her mind right now? My heart pounds as a knot forms in my stomach, causing me to buckle over a little bit as my breathing becomes shallow. Her eyes bore into me, making me break out into a sweat.

Finally, however, she breaks her stare and leaves the throne room. I let out a sigh of relief because I couldn’t keep my composure for much longer. I wipe the sweat from my brow and lean against the wall. That was so close. If Mary had read that note, I probably would never have seen Eric again. I have to be more careful because my job depends on it.

I finish dusting the throne room and then head into the locker room. I check to make sure it’s completely empty before sliding my hand into my pocket and pulling out the stationary. I look around again, just in case someone is close by watching, and then re-read it before stuffing the note into my purse. It’ll be much safer here. The last thing I need is for it to accidentally slip out of my pocket for someone else to find.
