A moment later, Hayden walked into the lounge, and Ashok couldn’t help but stare. He, too, had made an effort, his shirt fitting perfectly across his well-formed chest. He’d trimmed the scruff on his face, and his startling blue eyes twinkled in the dim light.

“Are you ready?” he asked, flattening his hair. “I need a haircut; this is getting far too long.”

Ashok didn’t think he needed one and told him so. “I like it with a little length; it suits you.”

“I’ve booked us into a little Italian restaurant Dom recommended to me a while back. I hope you’ll like it.”

Ashok was sure he would. Indian was his first choice, but Italian food came a close second.

They were seated in a small booth, nestled in a small corner of the restaurant. It was homely, and the wait staff were friendly as they ordered, telling him their pizzas were the best in town. Hayden gazed at him across the table and reached for his hand.

He could have pulled away, but he was tired of running, not just from his family but from Hayden too. He’d been happier than he had been in a long while when they were together, and this past week had been difficult. It had given him time to reflect on what Hayden had told him, consider the person he was now. He knew Hayden was waiting for him, not pushing him to make a decision, and he respected him for that.

He hoped tonight they could put it behind them and move forward.

“You’re quiet. How are you feeling now?” Hayden spoke softly. “It couldn’t have been easy hearing that from your mum.”

“I’m good, just thinking about this past week. What you told me, what mum asked of me.”

“And what have you decided? I didn’t want to rush you. You said you wanted time.”

Ashok nodded. “You did, and I’ve appreciated that. I called your mum, you know.”

“I know. She told me. She didn’t say what you’d talked about, but if I know Mum, she wouldn’t have beat around the bush. She was disappointed in me back then. I don’t want you to be too.”

“I’m grateful for you telling me. If you hadn’t and I’d found out further down the line, I don’t think I would have been able to forgive you. At least now, I have all the facts. I’ve done nothing but think these past few days. I’ve been miserable, and I’ve missed you.”

Hayden smiled and looked out of the window.

“You don’t know how happy that makes me.” He turned back to look at him. “I’ve missed you too. The amount of times I wanted to just hold you and reassure you that I’d changed. I knew you needed to make that decision, but it took a lot to stop myself from coming to your room at night and asking you to come back to my bed. It’s been cold there without you.”

Ashok shrugged, feeling confident and maybe a little flirty. “I could join you tonight.”

“I’d like that very much, Ash.”

The arrival of their food put a stop to any further conversation.

The pizza was indeed one of the best he’d tasted. Hayden filled him in on work, how they’d taken on a new member of staff and that he’d promoted Angela to manager. She now oversaw a lot of the tasks he’d been doing; rotas, ordering, managing the girls.

It meant they could both have more time away from the shop, and that was a win in his book. Ashok listened, just happy to be talking with him again. He didn’t say much, not feeling the need to.

They declined dessert when it was offered. He was ready to go home and show Hayden just how much he’d missed him. He was filled with nervous anticipation, and his cock twitched, growing at the thought of what they could do together. He shifted uncomfortably in his seat.

“Can we just have the bill, please?” Ashok asked, and Hayden looked at him, his eyebrows raised.

“Someone’s in a rush.”

“I am. I don’t know about you, but your bed is sounding good right about now.”

Hayden’s eyes widened, and he stood from the table. “Let’s go. We’ll pay at the bar.”

Chapter Twenty-Three

Hayden

Haydendidn’tfailtonotice the bulge in Ash’s trousers and couldn’t wait to get home to investigate. He hoped to God he was wearing something lacy. He’d been fantasising about him almost every night, and a jerk-off session thinking about him seemed to be the only way to relax him enough for sleep.

Reluctantly, he stuck to the speed limit, but the urge to break every land speed record was great. He wouldn’t say he was desperate, but Ashok offering himself up like that was a dream come true.
