Raina hadn’t been, but Cody was family to them and that was different.

“And that bull?” Garrett asked.

Megan hesitated enough that he walked in and shut her door and she laughed.

“Progress,” she said. No way she was admitting what had happened.

“That’s always good to hear. Not as much as you want though?”

“We are getting there. Could be another issue though.”

“Ahh,” Garrett said. “Raina?”

“Yeah. The bull and me, we haven’t quite figured out what to say yet. I sent him a text, as I can’t avoid Raina forever. She and I are having lunch today.”

“The longer you wait, the harder it will be. You have to ask yourself if she’d be upset or not.”

“I don’t think so,” she said. “But telling her here isn’t the best just in case.”

“Probably not,” Garrett said.

Her phone went off again and she saw it was Jonah telling her to do what she felt was best and keep him in the loop.

“That wasn’t much of a help,” she said, dropping it down.

“The bull?” he asked.

She found it funny they weren’t calling Jonah by his name. “Yeah. He told me to do what I felt was right and keep him in the loop. Figures.”

“A word of advice,” Garrett said. “Family sticks together through it all. He’s not worried Raina will be upset or mad at him because they are still family.”

“That’s right,” she said. “I’ve got more to lose.”

“If you thought you had much to lose then you wouldn’t have gotten this far,” Garrett said, winking, and then left the room.

Damn it. Everyone was right but her today.

“Hi, Garrett,”Raina said when he stopped in the doorway of her office. Maybe he should mind his own business, but Megan had asked them for help and he was going to get a feel for things the best he could.

“How is married life treating you?” he asked.

“It’s great,” Raina said. “Not much has changed. We were already living together. I’ve just got a different last name and another ring on my finger.”

“Very true,” he said. “And how is college going?”

“Great. I’ll be starting back up in a week. I hated to take the summer off, but there was too much to do with the wedding and I will make it up and take two classes this semester and then see about taking three next semester. It’s a lot of work, but I want to get it done. My work won’t suffer, don’t worry.”

“I never thought that it would,” he said. “You know there is a spot here for you when you’re ready. I’ll just be sad that you’ll be doing more work with my brother when it’s done.”

She smiled. Raina was a drafter right now doing work for the business as a whole as needed, but the bulk of her work was done on the civil engineering side, not the mechanical, as was his background. Grant oversaw more of that end of the business. Garrett and Jade dealing with products and anything along those lines.

“I’ll always be around if you need anything,” Raina said.

“And how are your parents and brothers doing?” he asked.

“Good,” she said. “My parents are thrilled the wedding is done. My brothers too. Not that they did much, but I know Jonah would prefer to not have to put another suit or tie on anytime soon.”
