Grant shook his head. “I fear that my youngest son is rubbing off on you now that you’re spending so much time with them.”

Raina laughed and Grant walked away. “That was funny. Not sure why everyone thinks I need to give approval or know who they want to set my brothers up with. I hate to say they know what they are doing, but the truth is, my brothers know their minds. I’m not so sure they’d be happy my mother was doing this. But again, not my concern.”

“You don’t think Trent and Jonah would want to know?” she asked.

Why hadn’t she thought of this before? She was so caught up in her feelings for Jonah that she didn’t stop to think he might not appreciate this. Or might even think she was only going after him because the Fierces thought it was a good match.

Urgh, did she just back herself into some kind of a corner?

One more thing she was going to have to worry about now.

“I doubt they would be willing to be set up on any kind of blind date,” Raina said. “Not that they might not need the help, but they’d argue they had it covered on their own.”

That made her feel a little better. The truth was, she’d set her sights on Jonah the minute she met him. Then it seemed the Fierces and Jami Davenport got involved.

“I’m sure they do,” she said and had to let it go at that. If Raina was around tomorrow morning she’d see about stopping over and talking to her. Her friend would understand the need to not do it at work, but she knew she’d have to do it soon because the longer it went on the worse she was starting to feel about it.

They finished their lunch and went about their day, Megan wishing the clock would move faster since she was running out of patience to see Jonah.

When it hit four thirty, she was almost out the door but got stopped by Ryder Fierce. It was just her luck to not avoid anyone today.

“In a hurry, Megan?”

“No,” she said. “Is there something I can help you with? Do you have expense reports for me and receipts?”

“I do,” Ryder said. “Unlike my cousin Drake, I get things in on time.”

“I’m pretty sure Drake is always early now,” she said.

“That is because Kara gets them to you and doesn’t let Drake forget about them.”

“You’re probably right.” She knew that Kara and Drake had butted heads early on before they started to date. It was one of the first setups done in this office by Garrett and Grant Fierce. They were going after the opposites attract thing.

Megan supposed she and Jonah fell under that category too.

She held her hand out and Ryder put the file in it. “Thanks,” she said.

“In a hurry for a hot date?” Ryder asked. He was smirking at her. As if he knew something was going on. But she wasn’t going to ask. Jade and Kara were aware she’d gone to the elder Fierces for advice and now it seemed like the two men were trying to help her out by talking to Raina.

She could appreciate that another day. Today she just wanted to go home and shower, change her clothes and wait for Jonah to pick her up.

She finally got that wish when Jonah buzzed her outside the main door of her apartment.

She grabbed her purse and keys and ran down the stairs to greet him.

“You’re in a hurry,” he said. “You came barreling down those stairs.”

“Been a long day,” she said.

“Everything okay?”

“Yeah. Just been waiting for this.” Her eyes moved up and down the length of him. There was so much to see from his dark jeans to his fitted T-shirt, his muscles on display. Yeah, before she could change her mind, she grabbed his hand. “Change of plans.”

“What?” he asked as she pulled him to her apartment.

“Dinner in. After,” she said.

He laughed. “Are you sure?”
