“What’s that?” he asked. They were walking into the building now. “We can change in my office if you want.”

“That works,” she said. “I don’t mind the locker room, but I get to see you naked this way.”

He smirked at her. “I’m not going to be naked. I’ll keep my underwear on. I’m just changing shorts.”

“It was worth a shot,” she said, laughing. “As for work, Grant and Garrett went in with their attorneys and some contractors and bought this huge commercial building last year. The work is finally going strong on it to get it going and find tenants to lease out. Just lots of bills going around that have to be sorted and kept separate from the engineering firm. They gave it to me to manage. They said they are going to be looking into more investments in the future and each will have to be kept alone.”

“Sounds interesting,” he said.

They were in his office now and both undressing. “I like what I do. Numbers are stable to me. Or not. I mean they don’t have to be, but the theory is always there.”

“And stable is important to you?” he asked. “I thought you didn’t think so since your parents want you to be with someone that is.”

“You would point that out,” she said.

She pulled her shirt over her head. She had a white sports bra on and just put another tank top on over it. Her shorts dropped next and he saw the thong on her and he gulped. Damn, he didn’t realize she had that on under her workout gear and now he’d know. He almost told her to drop them too and locked them in his office but figured that’d be too risky.

“Just stating the obvious,” he said.

“Like you looking at my ass just now,” she said, wiggling it a little while she pulled her compression shorts on.

“You said you know I liked it earlier.”

She turned and kissed him, then opened his fridge and grabbed two waters. “Don’t work me too hard. I have to say I’m excited though. This is the first time I’ve seen you work out.”

“That’s right,” he said. “So I’m not going to be working you that hard. We are both just working out.”

“Bummer,” she said. “Guess you’ll have to work me harder when we get back to your place.”

“You brought a change of clothes for work tomorrow, right?” he asked. “This way you don’t have to rush out the door so fast.”

“I did,” she said. “They are in my car.”

She’d left her car at his house and only threw her workout bag in his truck when she came over earlier.

They left his office, passing by the ring where a few people were boxing and others doing some MMA fighting. He had no problem with that when he wasn’t there; they just had to sign the rings out.

He waved to many, got some smirks in his place, but no one stopped him. They might have thought he was doing a one-on-one with Megan. Though many had seen the two of them together and it hadn’t taken long for it to make the rounds that they were dating.

He hadn’t confirmed it and no one had asked. It didn’t matter to him one way or another.

“Are you getting on the treadmill first?” he asked her.

“If there is one open. What are you doing?”

“If there are two open side by side, I’ll get on one next to you; otherwise, I’m just going to the weights.”

“Do you run on it?” she asked. “You’re going to embarrass me because I’ll be walking.”

“Yes, I run. But only for twenty minutes, then I go to the weights. You do what you are comfortable with.”

When they got to that end of the gym there were two open, so they jumped on. Megan started her routine and he did his. A few minutes’ warm-up and then he was running, while she was walking on an incline next to him with her earbuds in.

He increased his speed and started off at a slow jog and turned to look at her. He smirked and she shook her head back at him but kept doing what she was doing.

When his twenty minutes was up, he had a nice sweat rolling down his back. He shut the machine off and wiped it down with the disinfectant he kept next to them and threw the wet towel out.

He’d start with some bench presses since there were a few guys there that could spot him. No way he’d ask Megan and this would give him a nice workout. He tried to do his in the morning when it was slow. He didn’t work out seven days a week but tried to get at least five solid days in at a good intensity. The rest he got when he was working with people.
