As the sun rose, I headed back to the mansion. Adam walked me to the door, turned, and left. I watched him go, his limp had gotten so much worse throughout the night. I should have let him rest more. Screw that, he didn’t have to come with me. That was his choice.

Tasha charged at me when I entered the house. “Where have you been?”

“I went for a walk,” I said. She didn’t need to know about the argument between Ethan and me.

“Well, you look like you haven’t slept. You have bags under your eyes.” She grabbed my hand. “Let’s go. We have lots of work to do.

Just like that, I was being whisked away into a fairytale wedding. Tasha had thought of everything. Even a bubble bath to get me ready. Which she had servants ready to give me, and I refused. I could wash my own ass.

The morning went by in a blur. People floated in and out with different assignments from Tasha. Dottie and Sandy stayed with me all morning, getting equally pampered. Dottie didn’t seem too thrilled about having her eyebrows shaped, but she remained a good sport.

Our nails were painted, our makeup was done, and our hair was blown out, it was all a dream. A lady even came and massaged our legs so we wouldn’t get pains from being on our feet all day, at least, that was her explanation.

It took hours to be pampered, and I loved every second of it. Tasha even had people come in carrying trays of food and mimosas for us. It was beyond fancy. Although I was tired from not sleeping, I was still able to enjoy it. My only complaint was it went by so fast. I think that was because I wasn’t ready to marry three men who didn’t want me.

Felix walked into the room with a fresh haircut and a tux on. Sandy smiled from ear to ear when he walked in. He smiled back and even did a little spin for her. We all clapped and cheered him on.

“Thank you, thank you.” He bowed. “You all look so beautiful, especially you, Sandy. I can’t wait to tear you up tonight.”

Sandy waved him off as her cheeks turned bright red.

“Ava, I wanted to talk to you. Sandy and I were discussing this last night. Well, I don’t want to bring up a sour subject, but, ugh, how do I say this?” Felix scrunched up his face.

“Spit it out,” I chuckled. The man always took forever to say what he wanted to say.

“Okay, okay. So, Sandy and I, um think, if you want, I could walk you down the aisle,” he said. “It’s just we talked to your mom, and she said she would be walking Joseph down the aisle, so I could do it.”

Tears swelled in my eyes. “Thank you, both of you. I really appreciate the offer, but there was a reason I didn’t ask you. Your job is to walk Sandy down the aisle and apparently tear her up after.”

Everyone in the room laughed.

“Yeah, but who is gonna walk you down the aisle?” Felix asked.

“My two feet.” I wiggled my toes.

Clap. Clap. “Ladies, it’s almost showtime.” Tasha stepped into the room.

She had on sleek black pants and a flowy purple top, she was absolutely flawless. I wanted her in the wedding party, but according to her, she was too busy setting everything up.

“Let’s do this,” I sighed.

Frizzo sauntered into the room and was followed by his entourage of workers. They rushed around, pulling out the dresses and shoes. Felix bowed and left us to it.

I checked the clock, twenty minutes left. My stomach turned, and my skin got all tingly. I lifted my arms so I didn’t sweat onto my dress. This was it, no turning back. Not like I was ever able to turn back.

Tasha ushered us into the room leading to the backyard. I peeked out the window. Cocktail tables and benches were everywhere. Tables held ice sculptures, wine glasses, and little hors d’oeuvres. Red, lilac, and green trees littered the backyard. Ornaments and reels of fabric were laced throughout them.

“It’s beautiful,” I gasped.

“Wait till you see the aisle.” Tasha pointed toward the back of the property. “There are huge pine trees that make an aisle. It’s like it was made for this. Plus, Dottie added a magical touch to it.”

“Thank you,” I whispered. I may be stuck marrying three assholes, but I had people in my life that were amazing. That’s what mattered.

“Okay, it’s showtime.” Tasha tapped her earpiece.

We went to the edge of the tree line. Tasha snapped her fingers, and the music started playing. I looked down, I was almost positive it came from the rocks.

Joseph and my mother entered the trees first. The cute little boy turned around and gave me a thumbs-up. Next was Sandy and Felix, they disappeared into the trees as well. I wanted so badly to peek, but I didn’t want all the guests to see me. Brian came up behind us and gave a little nod to Dottie. He had on a tux, and his hair was combed back, the man looked very dashing.
