“Can we just get this over with?” I ground my teeth.

“No, I need you to know I’m sorry. It was about the money, but it’s not anymore. I’ll give it all up. Every last dime. I would rather have nothing than not have you.” He grabbed my hand.

“Look around. We are getting married. You have me.” I pulled my hand away.

“I don’t want you like that. I want your heart. I want all of you,” he said.

“You would give up all of your money for me?” I asked. Maybe I was wrong about him. If he was willing to give up billions, that meant he did feel for me the way I did for him.

“Yes.” Ethan smiled.

A tear rolled down my face. “Okay, you have all of me. You don’t have to give up your money, though.”

“I love you. And yes, I promise to uphold my end.” Ethan grabbed my hand and kissed it.

“Finally,” the stocky lady sighed.

Adam pulled a handkerchief from his pocket and handed it to me. I blotted the tears, hoping my makeup hadn’t gotten too messed up.

“You all may kiss the bride.” The judge closed her binder.

Ethan went first. He dipped me like they did in the books and took my breath away with his kiss. When he pulled me upright, my head spun. It was dizzying.

Tristan was more gentle and kissed my lips but kept it brief. His eyes shot over to his son. My guess was he didn’t want his son watching him kiss someone that wasn’t his mom.

Then there was Adam. I wasn’t sure what I expected. He wore his mask, so I wasn’t surprised it wasn’t a full-on kiss, but I had expected more than what he gave me. He kissed my hair, turned and walked away.

It was only five years, right?

CHAPTER39

Ava (Day 7)

The guests dancedand drank and ate into the night. I was escorted around by Tasha as she introduced me to people I wouldn’t remember. I loved the attention, but it was overwhelming.

For most of the night, my husbands were busy talking to other business people. According to Tasha, the elite’s never took a day off, even at weddings, they wanted to discuss business. It seemed a bit exhausting to me.

“Can I have this dance?” Ethan held out his hand.

I took it and entered the dance floor. He held me close as we moved to the beat. Everything was beyond perfect.

“I’m sorry I didn’t tell you about the will. I should have,” Ethan whispered.

“It’s okay. I shouldn’t have gotten so mad at you.” I laid my head on his chest.

“You had every right.” Ethan kissed the top of my head.

“I love you.” I looked up at him.

“I love you too.” He bent and kissed me.

Everything was perfect. I was dancing with my new husband, who I was in love with. We had the next five years of our lives to be together. Nothing could get in the way.

“Can I cut in?” Adam asked.

Well, he could get in the way.

“No,” Ethan and I said simultaneously.
