“You’re sending me off?” The two men glared at each other, then he turned to his brothers. “And you all went along with it?”

Cobra nodded to the others. “In the end, it was my decision.”

“You said yourself the whole thing was bullshit.”

“It was, but how is it you seem to step in it wherever you go?”

“Did you forget we’re outlaws and people look to throw shit at us?”

“Nah, I didn’t forget it, but it seems you did. You got a full bar here at the Gold Mine and Ecstasy. You got club girls who are more than willing to suck your dick, but instead of staying on home turf, you go looking for trouble up on the north side. And the crazy thing is, you always fuckin’ find it.”

“You saw that video as clear as I did,” Mamba shouted. “Geez, fuck, even the prosecutor dropped the case, but you’re still on my ass?”

“I told you to stay away from Mandy, but no, you had to go find her.”

“How’d you know I went there before, and—?”

“I didn’t”—Cobra leaned his elbows on the polished table—“but you just told me.”

“Shit,” Mamba mumbled as he rubbed the back of his neck.

“You were told to stay away from her twice, and you didn’t—twice. And even after finding out she was some gangbanger’s sister, you fucked her anyway.”

“I didn’t fuck her, I—” Even he couldn’t sell that lie because a few more minutes in the nail salon, and he definitely would’ve taken her.

Cobra threw up his palms. “I don’t wanna hear it.”

“Her brother is using her in the worst way.”

“And sticking your dick in her is gonna make it all better?” Cobra blew out a breath. “She’s not our problem, and I sure don’t need the Marauders’ bullshit landing on us.”

“It’s complicated.” Even Mamba couldn’t explain the crazy feelings coursing through his brain.

“Yeah, real complicated, especially knowing your track record with women. You’ll fuck her, get your fill of her, then cut her loose. The last thing we need is some Marauder lowlife, corner boy, up our ass ’cause he thinks you disrespected his sister.” Cobra shook his head. “You just don’t get it.”

“You’re right, I don’t get how my club brother is turning his back on me and sending me off.”

“I gave you fair warning.”

“What about my fighting?” Mamba fisted his hands. “I wanted to get back in the cage.”

“The Savages’ main moneymaker is fighting. Instead of mixing it up in Vegas, you’ll do it in Laughlin.”

“You know there’s no cash to be made down there, that the big money’s in Vegas.”

“Should’ve thought of that before you screwed up again.”

Mamba huffed out a dry laugh. “I sure didn’t hear anybody complaining when I hit the top spot, or when the Serpents got a piece of my payday.”

“You’re a liability we can’t afford.”

“A liability?” Mamba pushed away from the table, sending his chair to the floor. “This is fuckin’ bullshit.”

Cobra stood, slapping his palms on the table. “You gave me no other choice.”

Mamba leaped around the table, but Boa jumped between them.

“Cool out.” Boa shoved his meaty hand against Mamba’s chest.
