Harry and Daniel shot pool and chatted for an hour and a half before Trent walked in with two of his friends.

"Shit," Daniel hissed, knowing it was on now.

"Don't lose your nerve, man."

By sheer luck, Trent ended up at the following table to them, and to Daniel's delight, he was a nosy fucker. He was commenting on their game and being a general loudmouth in no time.

"Not bad, boys!" he exclaimed.

He mentioned that Daniel could play for money.

"Sometimes do," he answered casually.

"Yeah? Right on," Trent remarked. "You two from Atlanta?"

"Yep," Harry answered. Thankfully, he knew Atlanta well enough to fake it.

"Never seen you here before," Trent said to Daniel. "I'm Trent."

"I'm Harry, that's Daniel. We usually play at theCrooked Cue," Harry jumped in, knowing Daniel wasn't as familiar with Atlanta bars.

"That's a pretty nice place," Trent noted.

"It's not bad," Daniel commented casually as he sank two more balls.

They all began to shoot the breeze, and Daniel decided to tell Trent that he was an executive at the state's biggest building supply chainCastle Builders; it was something he could fake, and he didn't expect Trent to Google it or anything.

Trent seemed impressed enough, and even though Daniel wanted to kill him, he kept his eyes on the prize. He was doing this for Anna.

"Want to play me when you're done this game?" Trent asked. "I bet you $50; I can end your winning streak."

"Sure," Daniel answered, not even looking at him.

Play it, cool! Play it, fantastic! He repeated it over and over in his mind. His heart was racing, and all he could think of was Anna and what this man had done to her. Daniel wanted him dead but couldn't let on that he hated or even knew of him.

Daniel finished the game, and Harry grabbed another round at the bar.

"My bitch ex-wife never wanted me to bet on pool, but she ain't here so I'm betting tonight," Trent laughed.

"You got a bitch ex-wife too?" Daniel began, trying to play a prick like it was customary.

"She was a doozy," Trent laughed.

"Mine fucked around on me," Daniel grumbled.

Bitching about a woman who didn't even exist was weird. As Harry returned and picked up on the conversation, he felt self-conscious about how he was speaking about women in general. Harry had told him it was necessary, and he saw that now, but it still felt ugly.

"My ex even whored it up while she was pregnant with my kid! What a piece of work that one was," Trent laughed. "She's seeing how much life sucks without me to take care of her though now I bet."

"Does she want you back?" Daniel asked, sipping his drink and trying not to let on what he was really thinking.

"She wouldn't admit it but I'm sure she does. The idiot ran off to some bumfuck town and used our joint credit card for the moving van, I got eyes on her."

"I wouldn't even bother with my ex," Daniel scoffed. "I'm done with her."

It was hard for Daniel to focus on the game when he wanted to kill and get information. Every time he thought he would snap, he'd remember Anna's face as she came and the sound of her moaning his name. He needed that back.

"Yeah, but this nutcase has my son and now she's bringing some random dude over to the house . . . she's not going to get away with it. I'll just have to teach her a lesson like I did before," he laughed.
