“We have enemies waiting outside, and all I want to do is rip off those pants and plunge my cock inside you. Darling?”

“What?”

“I know you are wet.”

“What?”

He sucked again, seizing her focus.

“You shouldn’t touch me here, but do you feel how hard I am?”

“Yes.” And she could feel his want, a lust that grew in force by the second. If they kept this up, it would grow beyond their control…and hell, it was hard to think with that mouth on her. And that hardness rubbing against hers. And those hands drawing her closer so he could mold their bodies better and make her hotter.

He touched her breast, a quiet caress. His thumb grazed her nipple, a back-and-forth movement that ignited her soul and set it on fire. She muffled a moan against his hair, desperately anchoring into one thought.

Fight. Enemy. Outside.

“Isaiah, wait.”

To her shock, he stilled immediately, even while his body and hands remained close. He lifted his head until his harsh breathing was right by her ear, seeming to draw comfort in her presence. Then he pushed off the wall, taking the unbearable weight of their attraction with him. Still, it hovered over them like an invisible blanket, charging them up.

“We can’t.”

“We can’t,” she agreed, keeping her tone neutral. Why couldn’t they again?

“It’s going to be spectacular, but it will end badly. We don’t need that kind of awkwardness between us.”

In response, she nodded at the door.

“Your crew is waiting for you.”

That erased the longing in his features, if only a little bit. She watched his tension return, then couldn’t help peeking when he readjusted his trousers, where the bulge was still visible.

“Darling.”

Her gaze flew up and met his. “Yes?”

“Stop looking at me like that.”

Her cheeks grew hot, but she had no answer to that. “Right.”

He pressed down on his shirt that her hands crumpled and exhaled. “Showtime. You don’t have to come. But Nicola…”

Nicola latched on to his sobering expression. “What?”

“I will make sure Maddox and Moon win this one.”

She could only imagine what came when they didn’t, and the image of their blood gushing on the floor was too much to take. But she hardened herself, waiting until he left the cabin to ponder beyond the fight. It would be a close-circled one to ensure none of the four participants could escape, with Isaiah and Cross spectating at the forefront. It also meant the rest of Isaiah’s crew would be kept there to ensure they behaved.

“Showtime,” she mumbled.

She strode to the closet, then shimmied out of the window and crouched behind some boxes. Cheers rose faintly, but as tempted as she was, she refrained from going there and veered to the other side until she was at the opposite end of the ship. As expected, a pirate was sweeping the perimeter and had just rounded up Chuck from his hiding space.

“Cleared,” the captor announced, joining the second sweeper. “I think our captain cut a deal with theirs.”

The other scoffed. “As if they would win. What’s the deal with them?”

“No idea. I don’t think Dan would share, either. Come on. Let’s watch those weaklings get massacred….”
