Her eyes narrowed for a moment before she rolled them, pushing out a sigh. “Again, Orion, what are you doing here?”

“I thought we should talk,” I told her, stepping in to close some of the distance between us. Before, the heels she wore had balanced our heights a bit more. Now, she had to tip her head back a bit to look up at me.

Which meant I got to stare down at her pretty chocolate ass.

“There isnothingfor us to discuss before our lawyers have completed contracts,” she insisted.

“I disagree, you want shit I’mneveragreeing to.”

Her neatly-arched brows furrowed. “Such as?”

“Two years before a baby, not happening.”

She sucked her teeth. “If you think I’m letting you in me raw before then, you’re delusional,” she snapped and turned to walk away.

And at first… I let her.

Because in the slim-fitting pants she wore, walking awaywas quite a sight, and I damn sure wanted to see.

After a moment, though, I went after her.

“Not even if it means immediate transference of the land and building?” I called after her.

She stopped, arms still crossed, as she halfway turned to face me. “Immediate?”

“Immediate,” I agreed. “To your married name, obviously. NalaniSterling.”

Sick, I know, but the immediate return of annoyance on her face—the tongue running over her teeth, eyes to the ceiling—made me a little giddy.

“I want it in writing,” she gritted through her teeth. “AndrecentSTD testing. Meaning, take your ass to the clinictoday.”

I smirked. “Clinic? Nalani, come on. The doctor comes to the crib for us, you should know that, baby.”

“Absolutelynot.”

My smirk dropped. “Absolutely notwhat?” I asked.

“You calling mebaby.”

“Get used to it,baby,” I told her, closing that distance again. This time planting a hand at the small of her back. Before she could snatch away, I’d grabbed her under the chin and leaned in to speak in her face. “Just because this marriage might beconvenient, you need to understand something right now; it ain’tfake.I’m gonna parade you in public, fuck you in private, and otherwise ignore you, just like most wealthy marriages.”

“If youreallybelieve that? That’s the saddest thing I’ve ever heard,” she declared, not backing away. “Is that why you’re like this? Mommy and Daddy hated each other, and took it out on poor Ri-Ri?”

In an instant, my grip under her chin had shifted to her neck, pulling her even closer. “You don’t knowshitabout my parents, orme,” I warned, locking in on her gaze.

“You sure this is how you want to start this marriage? Domestic violence in a public place…baby?” she asked, her tone all butdaringme not to let her go.

So I didn’t.

I gripped her tighter, eyes not wavering as I told her. “Nothing violent about it…baby.”

She didn’t seem surprised when I pressed my lips to hers. She pressed back, giving me clear aggression.

I had painfully fewer qualms than she did, though.

It wasnothingto me to push my tongue into her mouth and drop my free hand to her ass for an overflowing handful, all in thepublic placeshe was so worried about. She realized, quick as fuck, that challenging me on something like public decency was a mistake.

I had too much money tocare.
