“And sexercise. You sleep with more people than I did—do.”

“Did?” He gave me a scrutinising look. Glancing over at the sofa, where Asher now had his tongue down Levi’s throat—seriously, did they not realise there were other people in the room—he lowered his voice again. “Is this thing serious, then?”

I shook my head. “It’s…I get the impression that I like him more than he likes me. I think I want more than he wants to give.”

“Oh. That could be a problem.” JJ’s mouth twisted. “At the risk of sounding repetitive, I really did mean what I said earlier. Really. If you need to talk about anything.”

“Yeah. Thanks.”

In an attempt to lighten the mood, he patted my shoulder. “You know… If you want any advice about gay sex, you can come to me. And if you want me to introduce you to the magic of toys, let me know. There’s a great prostate massager I can—”

I cut him off with my hand over his mouth because now both Asher and Levi were staring at us curiously. The last thing I needed was for even more people to find out about my private business.

JJ shoved me away, smirking, and I rolled my eyes. He started tapping at his phone again, but then his head shot up, his gaze scanning my body. “Hey! Did you take those shorts from my room?”

“Did you only just notice I was wearing them? I thought I’d get into character, and they look good on me, right?” I grinned at him, and he shook his head.

“I need to introduce you to my friend Cassius. I think you’d get on well.” Swinging into the chair, he patted his thighs. “Anyway, back to the matter at hand. You dance. Ash and Levi are going to film it for me—notfor social media—so I can break it down later.”

“That’s it? Are you gonna dance too? I thought I was giving you my opinion on your new moves.”

“I’m not happy with it yet. But I’ll be asking your opinion when it comes to the time.” He tapped on his phone one final time, and “Have Mercy” by Chlöe started playing from the speaker next to the TV. “Okay. Go.”

I didn’t need any more encouragement. Dropping down, I went for it, moving as I had in the club, and as my hands slid over JJ’s hard torso, all I could think of was that I really fucking wished that I had Elliot beneath me.

“Fuck, yeah, Ander!” JJ was all excitable encouragement. “If you ever want a job on the side, I bet I could get you a place at Sanctuary.”

“Bloody hell,” a voice breathed from the doorway behind me, and I almost lost my momentum. Elliot was here, watching me dance. Did he like what he saw?

I rolled my hips down, and I heard a noise that sounded like a whimper that was immediately cut off. Yeah, he was enjoying this.

“On my lap. Turn around,” JJ instructed, and that was when I got my first look at Elliot. He was leaning against the doorframe, dressed in jeans and an oversized hoodie that I was 99 percent sure had belonged to me at one point, staring at me with his lips parted and his eyes huge and dark.

I knew he was remembering, just like I was. And I wanted him to be the one I was dancing on. He was the one I was dancing for.

When the song came to an end, I straightened up and then took a bow to the sound of catcalls from Asher and Levi. JJ headed over to them to check out the video footage, and I made my way towards Elliot.

I braced my arm against the doorframe, leaning into him, watching as his pupils dilated. I couldn’t even remember what it was like to not feel an insane attraction towards this boy. How had we ever been just friends? “You liked that, didn’t you?”

“I had a hard-on and you weren’t even dancing on me this time,” he whispered, and then his face drained of colour. “Shit. Can we pretend I didn’t say that?”

Grabbing his wrist, I pushed off the doorframe and into the hallway because I didn’t want anyone to overhear our conversation. I pulled him into the empty kitchen, hopping up on the kitchen table, and then tugged him to stand between my legs. “Just so there’s no confusion, you got hard when we were at Revolve because I was dancing on you? Or would it have happened no matter what?”

“Um.” He bit down on his lip. “It was my first lap dance, so…”

I gripped his chin, lifting his head so he had no choice but to look at me. “E.”

“Fine. Yes, it was because it was you.” His cheeks flushed, and I smiled.

“Good.” Releasing my grip on his chin, I let my hand fall to my side. Although I really, really didn’t want to, I changed the subject. “Want to go down to the student union and play pool? See if Noah and Liam are up for it? Or Asher and Levi?”

What I actually wanted to do was to take him back up to my bedroom and suck his dick until he came down my throat, but I kept remembering his earlier words.I’m not his man.

I couldn’t let him know how hard and fast I was falling for him. I couldn’t scare him away.

I wasn’t ready for this thing between us to end.

So this was my next best option. Change the subject away from dancing and sneakily suggest a double date that wasn’t a double date.
