As I took in my boyfriend, who was now deep in conversation with Winter, saying something about Creed and Skirmish, I couldn’t help the wide smile spreading across my face. I’d come back to Alstone for closure, but now I had so much more than I could have ever dreamed of. As I watched him, he stretched, his muscles flexing, and my heart skipped a beat. He was so gorgeous, inside and out. I was a lucky, lucky girl.
“What are you thinking about?” Cassius was suddenly in my face, his eyes sparkling with humour and a smirk tugging at his lips.
I thought fast. I hadn’t had all that many interactions with Cassius yet, but I thought I had a pretty good idea about how to handle his playful personality. “Nothing much. Just thinking about how much I like Zayde’s piercing.”
Zayde’s head whipped around to mine, one brow raised.
“What piercing?” Jessa leaned forwards, unconcealed curiosity on her face.
“Oh, I don’t think I should say.”
“She’s talking about your dick, isn’t she?” Caiden cut in, also smirking. Honestly, what was it with these boys and their constant smirks?
“You have yourdickpierced?” Cassius clapped his hands over his crotch, wincing. “You crazy fucker.” He glanced over at Caiden. “Wait. How did you know?”
Caiden shrugged. “I was there when Mack pierced it. I wanted to see what it was like. Decided against getting mine done in the end, though.” Grabbing Winter and pulling her into his lap, he added, “My girl’s never had any complaints about my dick, so I’m not bothered either way. Have you, Snowflake?”
Winter’s cheeks flushed as she shook her head. “Seriously, Cade. Do you have to drag me into this? You know I have no complaints. At all.”
“Can we talk about anything except my brother’s dick, please?” West grimaced around a mouthful of meat feast pizza. “It’s enough to put me off my food.”
“Yeah, really looks like it.” Cassius laughed at him as he wiped the remains of pizza from his face with one of the napkins the pizza place had provided.
“We propose a toast.”
I hadn’t even noticed Jessa and Lena disappearing from the lounge, but they were standing in the doorway. Lena was holding up a bottle of some kind of green liquid, and Jessa had a teetering pile of shot glasses balanced in her hands.
They crossed the room to the coffee table. Jessa lined up the shot glasses, and Lena poured the vibrant liquid into them. When the little glasses were all full to the brim, they handed them out to all of us.
“We should have sugar if we’re doing this properly, but we don’t care about proper. Don’t tell my brother,” Jessa said.
Lena caught my puzzled frown. “Her brother owns a club in London. He’s particular about his drinks.”
“Yeah, and we’ll take you there sometime very soon,” Jessa promised. “You can meet JJ.”
Cassius jumped to his feet, doing some kind of hip thrust that I wasn’t prepared to see, not when he was standing so close to me, wearing such tight jeans. “JJ!”
“Not another word about those fucking gold shorts,” Zayde ground out, and I stared between them both, intrigued.
Jessa caught my gaze and mouthed,I’ll tell you later.
I nodded with a smile, holding up my shot glass in acknowledgement. “What are we toasting, anyway?”
Lena and Jessa exchanged glances, and then Lena held up her own glass. She took a deep breath, fixing her gaze on mine. “We thought we’d do a cheers to Tim.”
A lump came into my throat. “Th-that would be really good,” I whispered. Then Zayde was there, pulling me into his arms and surrounding me with his strong, safe presence.
“Breathe, baby.”
I took a breath, and then another. “To Tim,” I murmured, and everyone downed their drinks as one.
In that moment, I loved them all.
“Fuck me, that was strong,” Lena exclaimed, wiping her hand over her mouth. “No more of those for me.”
“Z. Want to play?” Caiden threw a game controller at Zayde, who caught it easily. I felt him relax against me as his hands gripped the controller in front of me, with me sitting between his legs.
“When did you move the PS5 back in here?” West questioned, grabbing one of the free controllers.
