“And who exactly are you that you could pull that off,Tommy?”

I almost laughed. The way she’d said the name made it clear she knew it wasn’t really mine, but I wouldn’t be ready to share anything about myself until I knew what her angle was. “Don’t worry about it. We’re going to have a nice lunch and I want you to enjoy yourself.”

Claire still appeared guarded. She was clearly trying to figure out what I wanted. I couldn’t just come right out and tell her that what I wanted was to feel her tight body wrapped around my throbbing cock as I pounded into her with wild abandon.

And I was a man whoalwaysgot what I wanted.

Juniper wasn’t far from the club. We approached the restaurant, the big, front windows looking in on the gorgeous art deco interior of glass and gold. Sunlight poured into the space, making it as inviting as a place could be.

The driver pulled in front, the towers of downtown rising into the sky above us. I exited, stepping out and turning right away to offer my hand to Claire. She regarded me with another flash of skepticism before reaching out and taking my hand. Just like last night, the touch of her skin against mine was enough to give me pause, to make my heart begin to beat fast, to stiffen my prick where I stood.

“You OK?” she asked as she stepped out of the car and onto the sidewalk.

I took a deep, slow breath to give myself a moment of composure.

“I’m fine. Come on.”

As we stepped to the front door of the restaurant, a staff member immediately hurried over and opened it for us. However nice Juniper looked from the outside, the inside was another matter altogether. We were surrounded by gold and glass, tall, vaulted ceilings reaching high above. Soft jazz played on the speakers, and the scent of delicious food drifted through the air from the chefs in back preparing for the dinner shift ahead.

The waiter, a man appearing to be in his mid-twenties, with curly blonde hair and a tall, slender frame, regarded me with the same blend of fear and respect that I was used to with those that knew who I was.

“Mr. O’Leary,” he said, giving me a quick, polite nod. “Please, right this way. The manager has prepared the best table in the house for you and your guest.”

“Thank you.”

With that, the waiter led us through the restaurant, passing by beautifully set tables until we reached a small, but intimate area toward the back corner, on a slightly elevated portion of the floor that, along with a few other tables, looked out over the restaurant and to the city streets to our right.

“This will be perfect,” I said.

I wasn’t lying. The position of the table allowed for a view of the entire restaurant. I’d been to Juniper enough times to know what it was like to have dinner during the rush of the evening, the place alive with servers zipping here and there, the elite of the city filling the tables. To have it all to ourselves was a true treat.

“What’s your name?” I asked.

“Darren, sir.” His eyes flashed with fear, as if he were worried that I’d just put him in the hotseat.

“Pleasure, Darren.” I reached into my inner suit jacket pocket, removing my wallet and surreptitiously slipping out a pair of hundreds, moving them into Darren’s hand. “You’re to not bother us unless I gesture for you. When I do, be here promptly. I don’t like to be kept waiting.”

The young man quickly glanced down at the money now in his hands, his eyes flashing with excitement.

“Yes, sir!”

“A bottle of something good, old and white to start out. And… have the chef prepare whatever he feels like. I’ve been here enough to trust him. You do well, there’s three more of those waiting for you when lunch is over.”

Barely able to contain his happiness, Darren hurried off to the bar to fetch a bottle of wine. I turned to Claire, who was in the process of taking in the scenery.

“This place… it’s something else.”

“Glad you like it. It’s not often that I get an opportunity to dine out. When I do, I like to make sure the experience is worth my time.”

“And you sure know how to take care of the staff.” She nodded to Darren over at the bar, clearly referencing the money.

“You take care of other people, they’ll take care of you.”

“So, it’s all about reciprocity for you?”

“It’s not all about that. More like I’ve been around the block enough times to understand how the world works.”

“So wise.” Her words were tinged with a wry tone. “But let me make sure we’re both on the same wavelength here. I’m not some woman who you can wine and dine and get what you want out of afterward. Hell, I don’t even know what itisthat you want.”
