“I want to say that we should take things slowly, but I think we’ve bypassed that?” I asked.
“Yeah, I don’t want to rush it either, though.” He admitted.
“What if we throw away standards and let the universe dictate the future?” I asked, unsure of what that meant.
“I don’t share.” He looked into my eyes. “I need you to understand that.”
“Keep fucking me right and we won’t have that problem.” I leaned forward and kissed his frowning lips.
“I have no plans to change that.” He firmed.
He wrapped his arms around me, and I rested my head against his chest. Feeling completely settled, I closed my eyes and let him guard me against the unforeseen demons. No night terrors or bad dreams. Just his arms grounding me into the moment and keeping me safe.
