Before he can even finish producing the g on the word he was about to spew, I squeeze his cheeks together, halting his speech altogether.

“Don’t do that,” I say. “Don’t succumb to hate.”

My eyes travel to where Kaspian sits, transfixed. Almost amused.

“He wasn’t so quick to hurl slurs when he had his hand down my pants,” Kas replies, spinning a ring on his finger.

My grip tightens on the man’s face as my jaw clenches. “Interesting.”

The man tries shaking his head, attempting to speak again. His dirty blond hair sticks to his forehead with sweat, and his blue eyes peer up at me. I remove my hand. “You said don’t succumb to hate, but what is this?” he cries.

“It’s not hate. I don’t feel passionately about your existence. I don’t have an intense aversion to you.”

“Then this makes no sense! He brought me here. He lied to me. Tricked me. Why?” he cries.

I lock eyes with Kas. “For me,” I answer, receiving a smile.

“It wasn’t a trick,” Kaspian says. “He knew why he was coming with me. To fuck me. To suck my dick. To have his way with me.”

He’s spurring me on. I know he wants me to be jealous. I look down at the man who keeps fighting his restraints.

“You’ll regret it. Don’t do this for him. He’s not even man enough to kill me himself. He’s making you do the work for him. You’ll have to live with this for the rest of your life.”

Kaspian shakes his head, rolling his eyes.

My fingers land on his chest and I start counting. Kas leans forward.

“I don’t live with regrets. Everything I’ve done, I’ve done because I wanted to.”

I position the knife and shove it in at just the right angle. With an extra thrust, I push the blade in deeper and watch as his mouth parts, eyes bulging before I rip the knife out and blood begins to ooze out.

Placing the knife next to his body, I watch as life slowly drains away, the light in his eyes fading, his noises quieting.

Kaspian gets up and comes around to look as well.

“Welcome back, Quintin,” he says with a tiny smirk.

With my bloodied hand, I reach out and grab his throat, walking him backward into the wall.

My head hits the wall before his hips are against mine. “You let him touch you.”

“I didn’t have a choice,” I breathe, thrilled with his jealousy.

“What else did you two do?”

“Not much.”

He undoes his pants with one hand while holding me in place with the other. “You found him for me.”

Not a question, but I answer anyway. “Yes.”

“While he was touching you, you thought about me, didn’t you?”

He strokes himself between us.
