I wokein Carson’s arms, surrounded by his musky warmth. Inhaling a deep breath through my nose, I closed my eyes, savoring his scent.Heaven.

Squirming in his grasp, I stretched my legs, flexing my toes as I yawned wide enough to make my jaw crack. Carson chuckled, a low, rumbling laugh that sounded gravelly and sexy. He snuggled closer, his morning wood pressing against my ass deliciously.

“Good morning, beautiful.”

His lips pressed against my neck and I wondered just how many hours I could convince him to lie here with me without having to get up.

“It’s time to rise and shine. We have plans today.”

“Plans? I don’t remember making any.”

“It’s the day I take you on our first official date.”

He continued to kiss on my neck, sending shivers of pure desire down my spine. “Technically, we had our first date the other night at the lounge.”

“That didn’t count. You didn’t even know who you were meeting. What you don’t seem to understand is that you deserve the best, and it’s my job to give it to you.”

I pushed my bottom against his groin, his erection nestling between my cheeks. “You have nothing to prove to me, Cary.”

“That’s where you’re wrong, Boytoy. I do have something to prove to you. Not because I have to convince you to want me, but because it’s the least any man who wants you can do for you. Since I happen to be that lucky man, I’m going to convince you every single day that you made the right choice.”

Carson gripped my chin, tilting my head back to meet his lips in a searing kiss that made me forget what we were talking about. “You are worth more than Grindr hook ups and casual sex.” He kissed my lips again, taking his time to savor my tongue. “You are worth more than men who steal your credit card and stand you up.” His next kiss was shorter and sweeter. “You are worth more than men who can’t see your worth and toss you aside for a lesser man.” His last kiss landed on the tip of my nose. “You are worth everything, and that’s what I’m going to prove to you.”

His kisses and words left me dizzy. I felt like I was floating, only grounded by his arms wrapped around my waist. He burst my bubble when he nipped my nose with his teeth. “Hurry up and get in the shower. It’s already eleven.”

“Eleven! Why did you let me sleep so late?” I threw the covers off my body and scrambled out of bed.

“Because of that.” He pointed at my naked body, my dick still semi-hard from his kisses.

“Well, this belongs to you now, and you can have it anytime you like. Therefore, no need to sleep away the day to get it. Where are we going, anyway? I don’t even know what to dress for.”

“I figured we could head over to the mall. Maybe do some shopping, and I can take you to lunch at that nice restaurant there.”

“Oh, the Caribbean place? Wait until you try their Cajun seafood jambalaya.” I grabbed a towel from the hook on his closet door and wrapped it around my body. Carson must have drawn the short straw when they divvied up rooms because he did not have a bath attached to his room. Either his brother or his cousin must have the larger bedroom with the en-suite bath. “Give me ten minutes, and I’ll be ready.”

Carson barked out a laugh. “You’ve never been ready in ten minutes in your entire life, Boytoy. It’s probably going to take you an hour, but I can’t think of anything I’d rather do than wait on your pretty ass.”

Even covered in a towel, I could feel his eyes leering at me as I walked out.

I loved the Riverside mall, with its garden-like food court and large potted palms in a rainbow of colored ceramic planters lining the main hall. It had all my favorite stores with the addition of some quirky, independently owned shops that gave the place character. Carson tugged me along in his wake as he excitedly made a beeline for Dee’s Nuts.

“I love this place!” His eyes were large and round, like a kid in a candy store.

“Really? You just like the name, not the product they sell.”

“No, I’m serious. Try these.” Using a metal scooper, he scooped a handful of nuts from a sample bin and pushed the paper cup in my hands.

I brought the cup up to my lips and shimmied it, shaking a few into my mouth, thinking that any minute he was going to yell in his deep, baritone voice, ‘deez nuts!’—like a frat boy at a house party.

“Spicy. But actually pretty good.” The heat of the seasoning didn’t burn, it just pleasantly warmed my tongue.

“I know, right? They’re expensive, but the trick is to only buy a small amount, just ahandfulof nuts.” He winked, emphasizing his joke, and I smiled, shaking my head. Definitely a frat boy at heart.

“Then I go next-door to the candy shop and get a bag of M&M’s and caramel popcorn. Mix it all together and you have the ultimate trail mix for movie night.”

I wanted to laugh, but wisely didn’t. Carson was so excited and worked up over a homemade snack. He was positively adorable. “Sounds delicious. Let’s get some.”
