It’s not something I want to think about, not at all.

CHAPTER13

As I sit down to eat dinner with my mom, I make a vow to myself. I’m not about to get my head turned by some hot guy. I’m here for my mom, and honestly, I don’t know when I’ll see her again once she moves to Europe.

This vacation is a girls’ trip, and I won’t forget that fact.

So I don’t head over to talk to him, even though I have the opportunity to when my mom goes up for seconds. I’m so glad she’s eating.

And the next day, a day at sea, I spy him but again don’t approach since I’m with my mom.

The next day, though, my mom wants to do some water aerobics thing, and while it might be fun, all of the other women who show up are so much older than I am that she encourages me to go.

And when I spy Hot Guy leaving the area, I decide that maybe a conversation with him won't hurt any.

By the time I leave the pool area, I'm worried he might be too far ahead, but he's not. He's leaning against the wall a few feet from the doorway, a foot propped against the wall too. He's wearing swimming trunks, no shirt, and it takes me a long moment to lift my gaze up to his face.

“I almost thought you were ignoring me,” he says.

“Not a chance.”

“Ah, so playing hard to get?” he asks.

“I do enjoy a good game, but hard to get? I don’t waste my time with that.”

“That so?” His lips curl into that smirk of his. On him, it makes him so damn sexy.

“Indeed.” I brush back my hair. “If you really wanted to track me down, you could’ve?”

“I don’t chase.”

“No? You don’t like the thrill of the hunt?”

“I like to make my own thrills,” he murmurs, eyeing me up and down.

I shiver with delight. “You don’t like to say much about yourself.”

He chuckles. “I could say the same about you.”

“Then ask me a question. I just might answer it.”

“All right. Fine. Why pink?”

I blink a few times. “You’re referring to my bikini.”

He nods, his eyes hooded.

“Maybe I want to stand out,” I murmur.

“You do, baby.”

I roll my eyes. “I have a name.”

“I know.”

“Yes, but you don’t know it.”

“What’s your name?” he asks, taking the bait.
