We walked hand in hand to our room. Once there, I lifted her in my arms and carried her in, kicking the door closed behind us. I set her down gently and looked her over.

Her smile is playful. “We forgot cake.”

“Cake?”

“Yep. Cake.”

“I got something better for you to eat.” I winked and covered her body with mine.

Pricilla

Turned out it wasn’t a baby, but babies.

My mom moved into our old house and we moved into the new one Frank had designed with Jackson Sawine. He thought of everything we would ever need.

Thankfully, Grammy has been a tremendous help. Especially tonight, as I debuted my first collection.

“And now, we present to you Shifting Colors by CeeCee!”

Ralph and I worked hard, and we created a material that would shift with the shifter community. It was a hit!

The music changed, and the first model took the stage. Flashes of light were popping all around, and the next model took off. The crowd sat forward in awe at the perfect garments walking the catwalk. Then the transformation. I chose shifters of all shapes and sizes to showcase the new garments that changed with them.

“Pricilla, it looks like they like them! And guess who is in the audience?” My assistant Matilda bounced on her toes.

“Who?” I sent the next model down the runway.

“Madame De La Raven!”

“Chenille Raven? Here? At my show?”

“Yes! She’s sitting next to Hera. You know she has been looking for the next top fashion designer.”

“I know!” I paced. “What if she hates my garments?”

Strong arms wrapped around me. “No one could hate your work. You’re an amazing designer.”

Leaning back into Frank, I relaxed, enjoying the feel of his fingers stroking my hair. “Thank you for taking a chance on this timid little kitty.”

“Best chance I ever took. I love you.”
