Those words... they knife through me, slicing away the old barriers. A radiant warmth finds my soul for the first time since I was a child. Before my innocence was destroyed by a man who hated me.

But he’s never going to control my life again. Kieran has given me wings. And now the life I never thought I could have is truly possible.

Tightening my hold on Kieran, I lean up, pressing my mouth close to his ear, “I love you, my hero. Thank you.Thank you.”

After a few rounds of hugs and happy tears, Kieran says, “Let’s round everyone up and go there now. Nikki and Marcus, you can give my men a list of things you need, things to hold you over until we can arrange for movers to get your belongings.”

He stops Ariel as she walks out of the room, “There’s no need for anyone to cook tonight. Think you can be in charge of getting some takeout organized for tonight for everyone?”

She makes a pfft sound, “Is the sky blue? Name your flavor, I’m on it.”

Kieran grins. “I think some Irish comfort food would be really nice.”

She pats his arm. “Done. I’m sure the kids will love some good ole’ fashioned Shepherd’s Pie.”

When we walk out of the shack, Kieran’s got his hand tightly around mine. All his strength flows through the heated place where our skin is bonded together. I don’t even look up toward the main house.

There’s nothing for me there.

My fiancé leads me to his car, opens the door, kisses me hard and possessively, then helps me inside so he can drive me to our new home.

CHAPTERTHIRTY-NINE

It is mayhem in the house. I love every fucking second of it. Kids are swarming around the kitchen. Happy voices and laughter fill the air.

The place might be gigantic, but it’s got a warmth that you can’t deny. Or maybe it’s just what love feels like...

I catch Carra around the waist and press my nose to the side of her neck. “I hate to bail, but I’ve got some calls to make, and I need to meet with Eva about the wedding.”

She twists in my arms. “You don’t mind taking care of meeting with Eva alone?”

I brush my lips across hers, drawing a little purr from her. “Not at all. You hang out with everyone.”

She grins against my mouth. “It’s like a giant sleepover.”

“Only they are not sleeping in our bed. That’s for you and me alone.”

Her face heats, the warmth of her skin radiating to me as I find her mouth again. This time, as I kiss her, I drag her backwards toward an alcove in the kitchen for some privacy.

When I press her against the wall, she lifts her arms, circles my neck and softens against me. I know what home feels like now, and I’m not talking about the monstrous building we now live in.

I lean down, take her mouth with a low growl. Time unravels and the voices in the other part of the kitchen drift away as I taste her, explore her lovely mouth, as my hands find all her perfect curves.

She moans my name. “You’re going to make it hard for me to let you go.”

“We have time to slip away...”

Breathily, she asks, “Oh, really?”

With a growl, I grab her hand and drag her off toward the hallway, I throw open the first door we come to. Hell, I have no idea what’s behind any of the doors, but am pleasantly surprised to find a bathroom done in cool gray, with a large white marble vanity and a mirror the fucking size of a skyscraper.

The perfect place to enjoy my fiancée.

Taking care, I make sure the door locks, then I lift Carra, banding her waist with my hands, and settle her onto the counter. She smiles at me seductively. “What are you doing, mister?”

“Getting ready to destroy both of us.”

Her face turns the loveliest shade of pink, like the roses that we will grow in our gardens. I kiss her again as I tear off her jeans and rip open my zipper.
