Apparently, that rewards a full fucking month without it,andsolitary.

It wasn’t his wisest decision, and now he’s suffering the consequences.

He’s not immune to the withdrawals.

His hands shake and cold sweats flood his body as he forces himself to exercise in the small, dingy space.

It feels like a part of him isdying.

He knows what the country tells the Omegas. They’ve been conditioned to fear them.

When he presented, his mother cried and refused to look at him anymore.

His younger sister gave him a sad smile and hugged him goodbye before the authorities came, sorrow spilled over her features.

He didn’t think it could happen to him—presenting as an Alpha is just as rare as presenting as an Omega.

So, he didn’t worry about it until it was too late.

He’s sure his family thinks he’s some brutal, bloodthirsty monster.

A part of him is, but not all of him.

The world needs to know what Lincoln City and the rest of the country is doing.

They need to—

The door unlocks, and Draven enters the room, a bag in his hand. He surveys the cell with a grim expression and sighs.

“You look like shit.”

Despite the jab, he’s still pleased to see someone that isn’t Ryland.

“How’d you get in here?” Abel asks. “Who’d you have to bribe?”

“Percy owed me one. Anyway, I wanted to let you know the kid’s not here anymore. They sent him to some medical research facility. He’s not stuck here with us.”

“Why did he come here in the first place?” Abel demands.

“He has unnatural aggression and strength for his age, so the elementary school reported him.”

Draven shudders.

“What thefuck.”

Draven nods. “At least he’s not here anymore. But I’ll try to find out more when I can see if his parents even know where he is.”

He’s not sure if a medical research lab is any better, but at least he’s not on this fucking island.

“What’s in the bag?” he motions toward the plastic sack in Draven’s hands.

“Oh,” he smirks, his expression lighting up. “Don’t ask how I got this.” He tosses the package onto Abel’s cot. “Just so you don’t lose your shit.”

Once he realizes what it is, it takes all of his willpower not to rip it open like a madman.

“All this over a fucking piece of clothing,” he mutters to himself, keeping his hands clenched. “No wonder we can’t get out of here.”

Draven’s eyes widen and he takes a step back. “Don’t say that shit too loud. You know what’s going to happen if they hear you.”
