“My big protective Daddy,” I grin staring into his eyes as my toes curl in my strappy shoes. Jason reaches up and grips my chin as his eyes darken.

“I told you, no one disrespects you. That’s the only warning they get,” Jason growls as he kisses me again before heading back to the group he had been speaking to, tucking his gun back into the back of his trousers.

You can feel the buzz in the air as we get closer to the starting time of the main fight of the night, the sex acts have all ceased around us and people are deep in discussion about the upcoming fight.

“I take it there is a lot of betting going on?” I ask as I see people walking around gathering up cash and taking down people’s names.

“Of course, there is. That’s the main reason for these fights,” Sean answers.

“How many have you done?” I ask, Sean shrugs.

“Three, same as Maximus.”

“We don’t allow them to do more than one illegal and two competitive a year,” Jason adds, not looking at me, but at a guy further along our row.

“Who’s that?” I ask. Jason shakes his head and looks back at the ring.

“No one for you to worry about,” he mutters. I look at Sean who shakes his head, signalling for me to drop it. I’m just leaning back into Sean when the lights all drop down again and the spotlights flood the ring. My heart starts racing as the room becomes silent.

“Ladies and Gentlemen, it’s time for the fight you’ve all been waiting for!” the MC announces and I feel my hands starting to shake.

“Let’s get this party started!” he adds before the lights turn to green. “Tonight, in the red corner weighing in at sixteen stone ten ounces, at six foot one, with six matches and five wins under his belt, Tim ‘The Machine’ Hades.” The lights fly to the entrance on the other side of the arena and the now red lights land on a man that looks like he could eat Maximus for breakfast.

“He’s huge!” I yell at Sean over the sound of his entrance music. “Eye of the tiger” fills the air and Jason and Sean both groan.

“He’s cocky and heavy, anyone who picks this song as their entrance thinks highly of themselves,” Sean states as he takes a sip of his drink. I take it from his hand and down what’s left of it.

“Jazzy, calm down. Maximus will be fine. He will win this one,” Jason says as he takes my hand. I look at him as I feel myself starting to shake.

“You really think so?”

Jason cups my face looking into my eyes.

“The only people I love as much as you are my brothers. Would I put any of you in danger?”

I shake my head.

“Yes, Maximus will get hurt but that’s what we do, hewillbeat this guy.”

I don’t get a chance to reply before the MC’s voice fills the room again.

“And in the blue corner, weighing in at fifteen stone twelve ounces, fighting on his home turf, with twelve matches, winning every single one is Maximus O’Reilly!” Nickelback’s “This Means War” blasts as the room erupts, cheering far louder than when the other fighter walked into the arena. I jump onto my feet with Jason and Sean clapping and cheering as I see Maximus walking down with his arms in the air as Christian walks behind him with the rest of the ringside team.

Maximus looks hyped and ready for the fight and my nerves calm a little when I see how big he looks in his shorts. Maximus spots us as he nears the ring and claps hands with his brothers before kissing me quickly on the lips.

“Be my lucky charm, shorty?” he asks with a wink.

“Always Daddy,” I reply before he walks to the ring and Christian holds the ropes for him as he climbs in.

Christian and his team climb in after him as Maximus, starts hopping from one foot to the other and the MC starts talking again.

“You all know the rules, there are none. All forms of martial arts and fighting are allowed, you fight until one of you can’t fight anymore. Each round is two minutes. It’s down to your ring teams to end the fight,” he announces as Maximus and his rival stand in the middle of the ring facing each other. “Bump fists!” the MC calls and they do before turning around and heading to their corners.

I watch as Christian grasps Maximus around the back of his head and they rest their foreheads against each other. I can see Christian talking and Maximus occasionally nodding. Christian stands up and faces his brother before nodding and walking away from him.

Maximus watches him until he is out of the ring and standing next to Sean and Jason. He places his wrapped hand over his heart, and his brothers automatically do the same. I can see the love shared between them more at that moment than I have ever seen before. Maximus looks from them to me and blows me a kiss, I quickly blow one back before his team surrounds him and his trainer gets in his face and makes him focus.

“Is he going to be okay?” I ask Christian who takes my hand and pulls me to him.
