I laugh as Sean appears behind his twin.
“She took his last brownie,” Sean chuckles.
“Prove it!” Jasmine demands, but when I look at her face, I notice a small chocolate crumb on the corner of her mouth. I reach up and swipe it with my thumb.
“What’s this then, angel?” I ask as I show her the crumb.
“Shit,” she curses before her eyes widen and she jumps off my lap, backing herself slowly away from us. “Sorry, I didn’t mean to swear!” she protests. She looks amazing in the light of the full moon with the sea blowing her long silk dress around her legs and her hair to the side. She looks like a goddess. The goddess of the brats maybe, but a goddess nonetheless.
“Come here brat,” Maximus declares as him and Sean rush for her and she runs away squealing. I can’t stop the laugh bursting from my lips as I watch the three of them running around on the sand.
“I was gone for five minutes, and she managed to get herself into trouble.”
I turn to look at Christian leaning against the open door with his hands shoved into his pockets as he watches the three of them. Maximus manages to get hold of Jasmine and throws her over his shoulder before marching into the sea whilst she screams for him to let her go.
“You know we have our work cut out with that one,” I laugh.
“Don’t! I’m getting grey hairs just thinking about it.” Christian bursts out laughing as Maximus and Jasmine disappear under the water and Jasmine comes up screaming and spluttering. “She’s worth it though,” he adds chuckling.
“She sure is, let’s just hope she doesn’t push her luck too much.”
Christian looks at me with an arched brow.
“Something tells me the fun has only just begun. Maybe we should change her middle name to trouble as it follows her wherever she goes.” We continue to watch as Maximus and Jasmine kiss in the water with the moon shining over them. “All we can do is pray we can do enough to keep our wife safe.”
As I watch Jasmine and Maximus, I realise he’s right, but one thing I’m sure of is that the four of us are ready to defend our wife no matter what comes her way.
