“I love you too, AJ.” Her sweet voice broke on the words.

“You’re my world. My everything.”

“I know that now. I couldn’t see it when you came back. But after spending time with your team and their women… I see it. I see you. Don’t stop!”

He jerked his hips back, dragging his length through her slippery walls. When he plunged in again, they shared a moan. Their mouths fused on an endless kiss, tongues working in tandem as their bodies took over and drove them to the peak.

She cried out. The pressure inside him built and built. Need tripled. A primal roar burst from him, and spurts of cum showered her insides.

He slammed his mouth over hers, lost in her feel, her taste. When her cries faded, she gave a final shiver.

Sliding one hand up his spine, then down to his ass again, she brought him slowly back to his senses.

He rolled off her and tucked her close to his body. “I didn’t hurt you, did I?”

She shook her head. “Not that I would have realized if you had. I was too caught up in the moment.”

He nuzzled her temple. “I have so much to make up to you.”

Finding his hand, she meshed their fingers. “You did it all in the name of duty. I know you were also protecting me now.”

He lifted his head and caught her stare. “You do?”

“Yes. I guess it hit me when I was talking to Teigen, Mustang’s wife. She broke off their marriage to keep him out of danger because of the work she was doing. I always thought that there must have been some way for you to let me know you were alive. But I see things aren’t always black and white.”

“Teigen and Mustang split and got back together.”

She leaned in to brush her lips across his. When she withdrew, her eyes were twin flames burning with love. “So did we.”

Dropping his forehead to hers, he struggled with the strong emotion her words brought to the surface.

After a minute, he said, “It was really great to be with the guys again.” His chest tightened.

“I know you miss your brotherhood. How can you not? But I’m sure it won’t be long before the doctor clears you for duty. When is your next appointment?”

“What day is it now? I’ve lost track. I think it’s next week.”

She smoothed her fingers over his brow. “I’ll go with you if you want.”

He pulled back to search her eyes. “You’d do that?”

“Isn’t that what people do in relationships? After all, you were with me through my hospital stay.”

“I’ll always be here for you, cupcake.”

Silence fell between them.

“Are you going to tell me who you’ve been talking to and meeting?” she asked after a loaded pause.

His jaw tensed.

“You don’t have to. I realize everything you do is classified. But at least tell me you told Blackout.”

He debated over how to give her the information she sought without scaring her.

“You didn’t tell them,” she concluded with a sigh.

He shook his head. “The timing wasn’t right. The guys dropped in to cheer me up, to make me feel like I’m still a part of it all. If they had official business, they wouldn’t have brought their women with them.”
