Lake looks ready to leave, but Ev gently stops him. “Before you go, can I kiss you?”
Lake freezes, his pupils blown. I wonder if he’s going to just run, but instead he nods slowly. Ev’s smile widens as his eyes darken, and I witness the most erotic thing I’ve seen in my life.
The kiss isn’t much, it’s pretty innocent, actually, but my dick is about to explode in my pants. Ev leans forward slowly, probably giving Lake a chance to back away. He doesn’t. One of Ev’s hands comes up and cups the back of Lake’s head. Lake shivers and tentatively touches Ev’s shoulder just as their lips touch. I don’t even think there’s tongue, and the kiss doesn’t last long, but I swear to fuck, I see sparks flying.
Eventually, Ev pulls away, and Lake blinks at him in a daze. Fuck, my little bird is so sweet, and there’s no way I’m letting him leave without my own taste.
I turn him so he’s facing me. “Can I have a turn?”
Lake can’t speak, but his nod is very clear consent. I tip his head up with a hand on his chin and devour his mouth. Fuck, I wasn’t lying. Lake even tastes sweet. He’s a little hesitant, and clearly inexperienced, but it’s somehow the best kiss I’ve had in my life. The only thing that would make it better is if Ev’s involved.
I blindly reach out toward my other man and turn my head to face him. Ev gets the hint, and his lips are on mine. There’s none of that hesitation that Lake has. Ev knows what the fuck he’s doing and what he wants, and it’s so damn hot. At the same time, we both turn back toward Lake and begin kissing him. We’re going to destroy this man, and it’s going to be glorious.
Eventually, we all need air. We pull away at the same time, all of us panting like we ran a damn marathon. Lake looks positively debauched, his perfectly maintained hair all mussed up, his lips red, swollen, and spit slicked. I have to resist the urge to take him right here in Mr. C’s foyer. But no, Lake deserves more than that. And so does Mr. C. It’s bad enough I ate his son’s cum one room over. I won’t fuck a virtual stranger in his front room. But damn, do I want to.
“I-I have to go. I’m sure River is wondering where I am.”
I seriously doubt that. They may be identical twins, but they clearly have different personalities. River is not the sexually naive man Lake is. But I let it go. Lake needs some time to process whatever just happened. So do I. I know I should be freaking out more than I am, but everything just feels so right, like I finally figured out where I’m supposed to be, and I’m not going to question that.
Ev pops back into reality quicker than I do. He leans forward and kisses the top of Lake’s head. “Thank you for that,” he says softly. “Drive safely, and please just let me know when you get home? So I don’t worry?”
Lake nods. “I can do that.” His eyes bounce between the two of us once more, and I think he’s going to say something else. But instead, he just clutches his left wrist in his right hand and turns toward the door. “Bye, and um, thank you.” And with those final adorably awkward words, Lake runs out of the house and down the stairs toward wherever River is parked.
Both of us watch until we can no longer see him. I turn toward Ev, my mouth partially open, about to speak, when Ev literally pounces on me, his fingers clutching strands of my hair as his mouth covers mine.

LAKE
River eyes me suspiciously as soon as I get into the car, a strange expression on his face.
“What?” I ask.
River snorts. “What? Seriously, Lake? You’re in there forever and come out looking like you had a quickie in Mr. Cirillo’s living room.” River’s mouth drops open and he covers it dramatically. “Oh my gods,didyou have a quickie in his living room?”
I can only assume he means sex. “If you’re referring to sex, then no, we did not do that.” I tilt my head toward him. “Is it even possible to have penatrative sex in that short amount of time?”
River starts the car with a shake of his head. “I didn’t necessarily mean penatrative sex, as you put it, but yeah, you’d be surprised how quick some guys get off. I wouldn’t expect it from those two, they look like they know what they’re doing, but you never know.”
I stay silent, trying to process his words. They both made some comments that make me think they may have been considering some type of sexual relationship with me, and I’m unsure how I feel about it. It’s never been something I’ve considered too much one way or the other. But for some reason, I can imagine eventually being comfortable enough with the two of them to get there. That’s a thought for another day.
“They asked me out on a date,” I blurt out after minutes of silence.
River glances my way, that strange smile back. “Oh yeah? Both of them?”
“Yes, is that strange?”
River shrugs. “It’s not the societal norm, but I don’t think it’s strange. I never really understood why anyone else cared about a complete stranger’s personal life. Cooper and I aren’t hurting anyone fucking each other and making babies, and you wouldn’t be hurting anyone if you date two men. There will be people who respond negatively to it, just so you’re aware. But if it doesn’t bother you, and you don’t feel forced, then there’s no issue with it.”
I think about what River says. I definitely want to pursue more with Evander and Logan, though I’m not exactly sure what that means yet. Does it bother me that there’s two of them? No, it feels right. And generally, I don’t let other people’s opinions of me affect my decisions, but there are a few people I do care about.
“Do you think Dad would be upset?”
River shakes his head. “Nah. He might be a little surprised, especially since you never showed any interest in anyone before now, at least that we know of, but he won’t be upset. He’ll like them. I’d just make sure you tell him you’re interested in them before he meets everyone for Sunday dinner. You don’t want him to be blindsided.”
That makes sense. “But he won’t be disappointed?”
River scowls. “Fuck, no. Lake, Dad is so proud of you, and nothing short of murdering someone would change that. Even then, it would probably depend on the circumstances. He’d never, ever be disappointed in you for liking two men.”
