“Sometimes more.” He acknowledged one of the servers who approached the bar. “It depends on the night.”

He went over to the server and listened to her drink order before getting a silver martini shaker from behind the bar.

I sipped my drink, crinkling my nose when the bubbles popped in my throat. Conner got pretty busy for a while, and Jude worked the room, holding conversations with most of the people there.

I grabbed a few napkins and a pen from behind the bar and began sketching. At first, it was nothing more than shapes, but as usual my shapes turned into objects, and fromthere I sketched the club from the moment I walked into the hallway leading up to the back room, and now the bar area where I sat.

As I mindlessly doodled, Jude’s prominent jawline seeped into my head, and then his perfectly sculpted cheekbones. His deep-set eyes and sexy beard weren’t far behind. When I outlined his mouth, I thought about his long, deep kisses. I squirmed in my seat when a vision of us in his bed flashed in my mind.

I didn’t know it was possible to feel anything like the way he had made me feel last night. I couldn’t stop thinking about it, and now knowing that he couldn’t either made me want to do more with him.

As I finished the last of my drink, Conner placed another in front of me.

“I should probably slow down.” The fuzziness in my head made the room sway a little. “Jude said not to get drunk.”

“You’ll be fine.” Conner smiled before getting back to making drinks. “I won’t overserve you.”

The alcohol helped me relax. People still stared at me, but after drinking a glass of prosecco, I didn’t seem to mind as much. I got lost in my sketches, especially the one of Jude. Even on a bar napkin, using a ballpoint pen, the drawing bursted in front of me. I had found my muse.

“What are you drawing?” Jude came up from behind me.

“Nothing.” I took the one of him and crumpled it in my hand. “Just doodling.”

“Let me see.” He picked up the napkins on the bar and studied the renditions of the club. “These are very good.”

“It’s nothing.” I shook my head. “It’s something I like to do.”

“How long have you been drawing?”

“Since I was a child. It passed the time, or helped calm me when I was anxious.”

“You must draw a lot.” He stroked my cheek. “Are you having a good time?”

“I like the prosecco.” I shoved the napkin in my small bag hanging on the back of my chair. “But I think it went to my head.”

“You’re a lightweight.”

“So, all of this is yours?” I motioned around the club.

“Mine and Luke’s.”

Conner set a drink in front of Jude.

“Thank you.” Jude picked up the glass and took a slow sip. “I’m almost finished. We can leave soon.”

“I don’t mind waiting,” I said. “I’ve never been anywhere like this before, but I don’t get to do that much.”

“I’d much rather be alone with you.” He touched his lips to mine, giving me a soft kiss. “Preferably, in my bed.”

My insides pulsed with a longing that I hadn’t experienced before meeting him.

“Do you like that idea?” he asked.

“I liked what we did last night.”

“Good.” He turned my barstool toward him and stepped between my legs. When he rested his hands on my thighs, my nipples hardened. “That was just the beginning.”

“I’m ready for more.”
