“Okay, even with the rumor, what about that one guy? He’s not even giving you play? Um, shit, what was his name?” I snapped my fingers a few times, trying to kick-start my memory. “Morgan? Mavis? Malik? Meh—”

“Mel Grand,” Leyton supplied.

“That’s the one.”

Foxyn shrugged. “Shit if I know.”

My phone buzzed consistently in my pocket, and I yanked it free. “Damn, gotta go.”

“Theon, be careful,” Leyton said.

I stopped and stared at my best friend. The severity in his gaze had me taking him seriously for the first time in a while.

“I’ll call if something comes up.”

Both nodded at me, and I raced toward the door. “Hope you get your dick wet soon, Foxyn.”

He grunted in response. I had no idea how he was doing it. I’d lose my fucking mind.

The bar was the same old dingy dive spot but the best place to meet a hookup. A few drinks and then off to a hotel or their place. The music was too loud to have full conversations, and too many people moved around to be too intimate.

On a Friday night, it was filling up fast. Any other night, I’d be on the dance floor. I had six am practice. As reckless as I was, I wasn’t a fucking moron. I checked my phone for what felt like the twentieth time.

“Where the fuck are you?”

I didn’t wait for anyone, yet I was standing there, looking like some nerd who’d never touched pussy a day in his life. Sabrina knew she was one of many; if she didn’t show up, another would take her place in a hot second.

Phone in hand, I sent off three messages to three different women.

Bar 22 now.

A few minutes passed, and I didn’t even get a fucking read notification.

“What the fuck!” I glared at my phone and pressed it against my ear.

Ringing penetrated past the music. Leyton’s voice followed after two rings.

“This has to be the fastest you’ve cum.”

“Ha, ha, ha. Fucking jokester. Nah, I was checking to see if my phone worked.”

“Well, it does,” Leyton said.

He was silent for a bit as I moved around a crowd and leaned against the wall, watching the door like a hawk.

“What happened?”

“I don’t know. It’s the weirdest—” My words died on my tongue and fluttered right out of my head as some guy sauntered up to me.

He smirked and jerked his head toward the dance floor.

“You need us to come to you?” Leyton asked, breaking the momentary stupor.

I shook my head and grunted as I realized he couldn’t see me. “Nah, I’m good. I think I might have found some entertainment for the night.”

“Great, don’t be stupid.”
