The quad was filled with people, and I considered heading to the gym. I thought better of it. It was one thing to tease Foxyn outside his workout and another to interrupt him when he was busy.

I chewed my lip and gave up, heading for the cafeteria. I heard someone shout hey behind me, but I ignored it and kept walking. No one ever paid attention to me, no one but my guys.

“My name’s Peyton.”

The guy from earlier jumped in front of me and started walking backward. His blond hair flopped over his forehead as he smiled brightly at me. When I said nothing, he twisted around and moved to walk next to me.

“Normally, people give their name when someone else gives theirs.”

“Who said I was normal?” I asked.

Peyton laughed, his head tilted back. He had an award-winning smile, the one that drew people to him.Theon’s is better. I should stop by and see how practice is going. Maybe offer my throat to him.Theon was the only one of my guys who was currently using me. Except for that incident in the hallway, nothing from Foxyn and Leyton said he wouldn’t touch me until my knees healed. They were in great condition.

Ugh, maybe I need to start another rumor to get their focus back on me.If I fucked with Leyton’s grades again, he might kill me. Foxyn would do the same.

A hand waved in front of my face, and I stopped walking. “What?”

“That’s a step up from you flipping me over.”

“Don’t count your blessings just yet.” I stared at Peyton, wondering why he was sticking so close to me.

“Mind if I ask you a question?”

“If I say yes, will you continue to hover?”

Peyton smiled. “Maybe then again, I like hanging around you.”

What the hell was he smoking? I glanced around until I saw a smoking area and headed for it. The whole making the campus smoke-free was a bunch of bullshit. They’d limited the smoking areas to four spots. I pulled the cigarette out and lit it. The first hit of tobacco coated my tongue and fluttered through me, relaxing me. I blew out a cloud of smoke before I gave Peyton my attention again.

His nose scrunched up, but he stayed close to me.What is his deal?

“What’s your question, Peyton?”

“What’s your name?”

I can give him one of the aliases I use here.I contemplated it. There was no harm in knowing my real name. No one but the guys knew who I was anyway.

“Ramsey,” I finally offered.

Peyton’s smile brightened even further. It was like having an annoying puppy staring at me.

“Well, Ramsey, who likes to flip people. Can I have your number?”

I choked on the smoke and stared at him. “You want what?”

Peyton laughed. “You act like no one has ever asked for your number.” He shook his head. “How about sharing a number with a friend?”

“I don’t have friends.”

Peyton’s smile faltered before it was back on his face. “Well, now you do.” He handed me his phone, and I grabbed it without thought.

I glanced up at him ensuring he wanted to exchange numbers. It had never happened to me.Fuck it.What was the worst that could happen?

Chapter11

FOXYN

Two hours before my fight and I was losing my shit. At the end of this semester, I was going to go pro. That meant a lot was riding on this fight. I needed as many eyes on me as possible. I’d been working my way to this point. Nothing could have distracted me from it.
