Chapter16

RAMSEY

My entire body was on fire but in a good way. It gave me energy when I truly had none. Still, I’d get to pass out later, preferably in the guys’ arms.

“What are you doing?” Leyton asked.

I smiled at him. He was the one who normally took care of things for everyone. He kept the guys afloat when they would be down in a gutter somewhere, and now I was included.

“Making a call. Can’t have Peyton going to the school and risking all of your scholarships.”

Foxyn plopped down on the single chair in their living room. He roughly ran the towel through his wet hair. “I’m going pro anyways next year.”

“And that especially means you can’t be tied to this incident,” I pointed out. I shook my phone at them. “Let me take care of it.”

They looked unsure, but Leyton sighed. “Fine, but do it right here where we can hear and see you.”

Ever the control freak.

“You should come sit down,” Leyton offered.

I shook my head. “Not yet. I’ll just get distracted.”

Theon came out of the kitchen with an apple in his mouth. He stopped by me, and his fingers brushed along the nape of my neck, making my already weak legs shake.

“See,” I moaned.

Theon laughed and sat next to Leyton on the couch, their eyes focused solely on me. If this weren’t so serious, I would put the call off longer.

I turned away from them before I gave in and fell to my knees for them again. My phone was pressed firmly to my face. The phone rang three times before Elio picked up.

“You have the worst timing,” someone said.

“Uh, where is Elio?” I asked.

“Is this life or death?”

Elio must trust these guys if they were allowed to answer his personal cell phone.“Yes.”

“Daddy, someone is on the phone for you.”

My face heated up, and I swallowed back my groan. The last thing I wanted to know was what Elio preferred to be called in his bedroom. Oddly enough,I could see the demon of a man as a daddy. He had an uncanny gentle side to him,at least toward the people he gave a damn about.

“What?”

Bet he doesn’t talk to his boys like that.I shook my head before I brought Elio Laureati to my doorstep. “I had an issue, and things got a bit messy.”

Elio sighed. “It’s going to cost you.”

It always does.“That’s fine.” I turned around and caught three sets of curious eyes aimed my way. I blew them a kiss and straightened up when Elio spoke again.

“Send the information over to Ken.”

“Okay, I’ll do the cleanup on this end.” There were documents I needed to make disappear, like records of who Peyton was. I had to make it look like he’d never attended school. It was going to be a bitch, but not impossible. Another college student who fell off disappeared under the pressure of being perfect. I had my work cut out for me, but I’d do anything for my guys.

Even kill.

I hung the phone up after a few more details were exchanged. I quickly sent Ken the information through a secure server. I deleted everything and went to the kitchen. I lifted my phone and slammed it against the counter’s edge three times before it finally caved.
