I swallow past the lump in my throat at Bellamy's admission. I see it in her eyes; this sweet young girl is no stranger to evil.

Plastering on a forced smile, I steer the conversation differently, hoping to change our moods. "How about you finish up your breakfast, then we can go into my room and raid my closet for something to wear? I don't have your exact size, but I'm sure we'll find something."

Bellamy perks up and smiles. "Okay."

BLAKE

The back of the clubhouse comes into view as I finish riding the perimeter of the compound and notice Bella, Alba, and Emerson outside, watching the kids play while drinking coffee. It's no different from any other day, at least not for them. My attention shifts to my second-floor bedroom window, where Bellamy is, hopefully, comforted by Ember. "I have a little sister." That's crazy to say out loud. Until now, I thought no one else alive shared my DNA besides my uncle, my father's brother. Thinking about him makes my blood run cold. My father was a shitty human but a fucking saint compared to his brother. Evil isn't a strong enough word for a man like him.

Parking the UTV, I walk into the clubhouse and find my brothers gathered inside, milling about, some with mugs of coffee and others holding plates of food, chowing down on the grub Lisa prepared early this morning.

I walk over to Jake, who is standing with Logan. "All clear?" Jake asks.

"Nothing to report," I'm quick to reply while scanning the room, searching for Ember and Bellamy.

Jake glances behind him, and I focus on Ember descending the stairs with my sister tucked into her side. The room falls silent as they approach.

I look at Bellamy, who, despite where she is, appears to be composed. "How are you feelin' this morning?"

Bellamy focuses only on me. "Better than last night." Only then does she glance between me, Jake, and Logan.

"Bellamy, this is the club's President, Jake, and Vice President, Logan." I introduce her to my brothers. She stands there, silent, shrinking to the size of a mouse. "I promise you're safe here." Why is she spooked?

"I'm not allowed to speak to any club member unless spoken to," Bellamy whispers, looking past me at Jake, whose expression turns cold.

Our President gives his undivided attention to my sister, his expression softening. "Sweetheart, I don't know who put the fear in your eyes that I'm seeing right now, but I promise you this club won't harm you. And if you've got somethin' to say, respectfully, then you are allowed to speak it freely," he assures her with nothing but kindness in his eyes. "You understand?"

She gives him a half smile, nodding. "I understand."

"Good." Jake then draws in a deep breath before announcing, "Church. Now."

"You okay?" I ask Bellamy.

Without warning, she throws herself into me, her arms wrapping around my waist. "Yeah."

My arms go around her shoulders, embracing her back. "Glad you're here, kid."

My sister leans her head back and looks at me. "Me too." Tears pool in her eyes.

Bellamy steps back, and my eyes connect with Ember's. "Come here." I pull her closer until I have her chest pressed against mine. "Thank you."

"For?" Ember raises her brow.

"Everything." My lips gravitate toward hers.

"Everyone is staring at us," she whispers.

"Let them. You're mine." I cover her mouth with mine in a bruising kiss for everyone to witness.

Shortly, I leave Bellamy and Ember standing in the middle of the room while I join my brothers, and we file into Church, where everyone takes their seats.

All eyes fall on me as I close the door and join my brothers at the table. Jake clears his throat. "You claimin' her?"

"Ember is mine. She's always been mine," I state.

"About fuckin' time!" Logan exclaims, leading to my brothers pounding their fists against the table's surface in agreement.
