"Reid, Logan, Mila, and Bella are taking their kids and Remi to the lake today. Remi invited Bellamy. That's all she could talk about last night."

I smile. "Remi has taken Bellamy under her wing, and I like that for her."

"Me too. I don't think she had many friends before."

I quickly steer his focus toward something else when I notice Blake's mood slipping in a different direction at the mention of his sister's life before finding us.

"Since we have all afternoon, will you take me up the mountain?"

Blake kisses the sensitive spot below my ear, his stubble making my skin prickle. "Yeah, Vita Mia, I'll take you up the mountain."

BLAKE

It's early morning, and we're all sitting around the table, guzzling coffee and chowing down on some of Grace's freshly baked lemon-blueberry muffins with the cheesecake filling. "Hey, kiddo. What do you say you, Ember, and I spend the day together?"

"Really?" My sister's face lights up. Since her arrival, we haven't gotten the chance to get to know one another, aside from what we revealed during her questions with Jake the other day.

"Yeah. Ember can pack us lunch and drive out to my place." I hurry up and snatch the last one from the box before Quinn wraps his gluttonous fingers around it.

"Come on, man. Those are my favorite," Quinn pouts.

"Everything you eat is your favorite." Ember laughs.

"I'm beginning to think his insatiable hunger is due to an oral fixation." Emerson sets a plate of crispy bacon in front of her man. "This should keep your mouth busy."

Quinn wraps his arm around her hip, grabbing a handful of her ass and tugging her close. "I don't hear you complaining when you're the one benefiting from my gluttonous tendencies." He waggles his brows, and Emerson rolls her eyes, though a smile tugs at her lips.

"Your powers are greatly exaggerated." Emerson smirks at Quinn, clearly fucking with him, but knowing my brother, he'll take her jesting as a challenge.

He stands, hand resting on Emerson's hip, and his face takes on a more serious expression. "We'll see about that." He bends at the knees and hoists her over his shoulder, causing Emerson to laugh loudly.

"Quinn!" she squeals, smacking her palm against his ass. "Put me down!"

"Shut it. I'm about to remind you of my superpowers, babe." Quinn begins to walk away from the table but stops himself long enough to snatch up the plate of bacon, then strolls out of the kitchen, passing Nikolai, who is walking into the room. "Hey, brother," Quinn greets Nikolai as he brushes by him.

Nikolai watches the pair disappear, then walks further into the kitchen. "What's that all about?" Nikolai chuckles.

"Sex, bacon, and superpowers." I shake my head.

"You have the best family," Bellamy chimes in.

"They're your family, too, kiddo." I nudge her with my shoulder. I look over at Nikolai. "Hey, brother. I heard you and Reid landed the hospital job."

"Yeah. We break ground in two weeks." He pours himself a mug of coffee. "Logan around?"

"Jake sent him and Gabriel out to make rounds around town." I down the rest of my coffee, push my chair from the table, and take my dirty dishes to the sink. For the past couple of days, we've all been keeping a closer eye on things, which involves riding the streets of Polson from one end of town to the other in pairs, each of us taking shifts throughout the day while we wait to hear that we've made contact with Satan's Hounds.

"Who's that?" Bellamy whispers to Ember. "He's hot."

"That's Nikolai," Ember murmurs.

"He is way too old for you and married," I say without giving much thought, and Bellamy blushes, immediately tearing her gaze away from Nikolai in embarrassment.

"Blake," Ember chastises me.

Nikolai approaches the table. "You must be the sister I've heard about." He smiles down at Bellamy. "I'm Nikolai, Logan's brother."
