We have none.

“Fuck!” I yell as I start to pace the office, running my hand through my hair for the hundredth time tonight.

“Wait! Her work cell. We have access to her location via her cell,” Eddie says, grabbing his phone out and tapping into the app. Why didn’t we think of this earlier?! I rush to his side, looking over his shoulder, and wait as the map pulls up and a little blue dot appears.

We have her last location. We’ve got her.

“I have a car waiting out the back,” Oscar says, having already organized it for us.

“We are coming,” Tennyson and Ben say as they side up to Eddie and me.

“Take security,” Oscar pushes, and I shake my head.

“I have no time,” I say, already walking out the back door.

“Harrison. Let the police handle it.” Oscar follows the four of us boys down the hall, the only secure exit for us in this entire building.

“Call them. Tell them where we are going and why. But if they are not there when I get there, I am not waiting.”

I am not waiting a second longer.

BREAKING NEWS

There is disarray in the Maryland Governor elections tonight as new Governor Elect, Harrison Rothschild, has delivered his acceptance speech.

After the obligatory thanks to his family and team, Governor Rothschild shocked onlookers with the news that his new girlfriend, Beth Longmere, has gone missing.

In what appears to be an expectant kidnapping, Miss Longmere hasn’t been seen since earlier this afternoon and was due to arrive here at the Riverside Community Center hours ago.

Local law enforcement, county police, and the security team of our new governor are all scouring the streets looking for clues.

We will have more details soon.

The storm is raging outside, but that didn’t slow us down as Tennyson pulls up outside the dilapidated house.

“Is that it?” I growl from the front seat, looking at the overgrown garden and the front gate, which is off its rusty hinges.

“Her phone was last located at this address,” Eddie confirms, and as soon as he does, I am out of the car.

The street is dark and quiet. It is almost midnight, and a few neighbors have soft lights coming from their windows, but not many. The darkness of the street matches my mood. With the police presence following me, I know it is about to get very bright here in about five minutes.

“Harrison! Don’t go in! Wait for the cops!” Eddie yells at me over the rain, but I pay him no mind. I stalk across the street and up the front path. The house is old, barely standing. The lawn out the front is in need of maintenance. And as I run up the front steps, I don’t need to look behind me; I already know all of my brothers are following me.

I bang on the door, my fist hitting so hard the wood almost splits, bits crumbling underneath my fingers. Even though my gut is telling me that Beth is in here, I still can’t go barging in. It could be a false alarm, a warm, loving family home, but I doubt it.

“Jesus, this is a shithole…” Tennyson murmurs, already rolling up his sleeves. Out of all of us, he is probably the best fighter. Constantly suspended from school as a kid, and now as an adult, his temper always gets the better of him. He was closest to dad, his death hit him hard.

I bang on the door again, impatient, as Tennyson looks around into the front window, trying to look through the cracks in the curtains.

“TV is on…” he comments.

“I have photographed the car in the driveway and sent it to the police. It is a shit heap, but there is a Prada bag in the back,” Ben says from somewhere behind me, him and Eddie tied to their phones. His mention of the Prada bag reminds me of the outfit I purchased for Beth. The one I left on her bed earlier today.

My fist clenches and I thump on the door again. I am about to push this fucking door down, when it swings open. Max comes up to my shoulders as he stands there, looking warm and dry and toasty. His eyes widen when he sees me, and I don’t hesitate. I grab his collar and push him inside, just as I see red and blue flashing lights come down the street in my peripheral vision.
