“Of course they do,” Alden grunted. Though he wasn’t surprised to hear that news he did look angry.

Two compounds meant double the work for us. I wasn’t looking forward to it either. The Holy Order was notorious for being both numerous and lethal. This was going to be a big job.

Sig got up and left the room while we kept talking. When he walked back in, he spread a map over the table.

Rafe shoved a finger at a spot in the northwest area of the country and then again in the southeast. Of course they wouldn’t be anywhere near each other. That would defeat the purpose of two strongholds. That didn’t mean that my heart didn’t sink a bit.

“Anything else we need to know?” Keller asked, studying the map.

“We want to see Roj pay for what he’s done,” Rafe told him. He took the pen Sig held out and circled both locations, then he wrote a number down on the edge of the map. “If you need anything, call that number.”

“Is it yours?” Rush asked, peering at the map.

Rafe didn’t respond, he and Keller shared a look. Keller nodded then stood. We all followed suit and they walked us to the door.

Colby and I hugged when I reached the end of the porch. “I’ll figure out a way to get into contact with you once it’s all over. That way you’ll know you’re free and clear,” I promised her.

“How?” she asked, puzzled.

I laughed and wiggled my brows. “I have my ways.”

“Okay,” she replied, echoing my laughter. Her eyes drifted past me and her laughter stopped, but the smile was still on her face. “They want you.”

“What?”

“Your guys. I can tell.”

I shook my head. “All the hormones must be going to your head, Colby.” I wasn’t about to entertain the kernel of hope that was lodged in my chest.

“I’ve seen that look before,” she insisted and jerked her chin. “It’s hard to miss.”

Following her line of sight, I saw Keller leaning against the hood of the car, waiting for me. The others had already climbed in, ready to get back to Brandon’s place. Keller watched every move we made.

“He’s just protective.” And an asshole to me. There was no way he was interested. The other three I could believe, but not Keller.

“Okay,” she told me, her tone sarcastic as hell. “Please be safe,” she whispered as she gave me one last hug.

Walking back to the car, I watched as Keller’s eyes followed my progress. Was Colby right? Did they all want me? Would they want a set up like Colby and the others had? DidIwant that?

My mind was a storm of possibilities and questions and nothing could be straightened out now, so I tried to ignore them. We were all silent on the way home, each absorbed in their thoughts.

CHAPTER13

Alden

Ienjoyed the feel of Zinnia pressed up against me on the drive home. Colby and the others had given us a lot to think about and a place to start. For that I was grateful. I hadn’t missed what was going on there, neither had Keller. I wasn’t sure whether Torque or Rush realized that Colby was in a relationship with each of the mercenaries.

My thoughts turned toward Zinnia and whether I’d be able to handle sharing her. I didn’t hate the idea as much as I thought I would. At least not if it was with this group of men, Brandon excluded. They were my brothers in every way except blood.

We thanked Brandon and told him goodnight as soon as we got back to his place. It was late and we had an early flight to catch tomorrow.

Zinnia went to walk past my room, following behind Rush. She let out that squeak I enjoyed hearing when I wrapped my hand around her bicep and swung her around.

“You’re sleeping in my room.”

Those gorgeous green eyes spat indignant anger at me. “I’ll choose where I sleep.”

“You’re with Alden,” Keller said, walking past without giving us so much as a sideways glance.
