“What do you feel like eating?”

“There’s a good sandwich place not too far from here. Eddie’s?” I love their steak and beef subs. I don’t often eat this unhealthy food, but every so often I allow the indulgence.

“Sounds good to me.” Rhett reaches for my hand and I oblige him. His hand is warm and calloused. While his nails are perfectly shaped.

We walk hand and hand down the block to Eddie's and go into the much warmer environment. We go up to the counter, and I’m surprised to find the guy behind the counter welcomes Rhett by name.

“Rhett! My man, how’s things?” the guy with the apron and red hat customary of Eddie’s greets him.

“Good. How’s your wife, Sal?” Rhett returns the greeting.

“Driving me nuts since all the kids left the nest,” Sal quips. "The usual?"

"Yep." Rhett looks at me expectantly.

"Steak and cheese sub for me, please." I give Sal a thankful smile and we step down to the cash register. Rhett pays for our food before I can fish my debit card out of the zippered compartment in my yoga pants.

"I can pay for my own." I don't want him to think I'm not capable.

"I'm sure you can, kitten, but I invited you out for lunch so I'm paying. When you invite me, you can pay." He flashes a charming smile at me and we find a table out of the main foot traffic flow.

Our food is delivered by Sal almost right after my butt hits the plastic seat at our table. We eat our lunch in a comfortable companionship with typical small talk you’d have on a first date.

Not conversation that you’d expect from two people that have been intimate like we have together.

“Wanna get out of here and go back to my place?” Rhett asks as we finish up our food.

“Absolutely,” I say, my smile coming through.

7 Uncomfortable Interaction

Turns out Rhett doesn’t live far from here or me, which explains why Sal at Eddie’s is so familiar with him. The walk back to his apartment is pleasant but quick with both of us eager to get to funner activities.

His apartment is on the nicer, ritzier side of town than mine, and it shows in just the doorman in the lobby of his building.

“Mr. Green,” the doorman greets Rhett.

“Tony, this is my guest, Elle,” he returns, simultaneously introducing me.

Tony tips his head in acknowledgment of me but stays stoic otherwise.

Crossing the lobby, we catch an elevator with little wait time. Inside, Rhett presses the button for his floor then corners me, invading my space. My heart leaps into overdrive and my excitement amps up with it.

With each hand on the elevator walls close to my head, Rhett doesn’t touch me but is a breath away from it.

“I’m gonna use you like no one has ever used you before. I’m not going to stop until my name is the only thing that passes your lips.” His whispered words have me getting wet between my legs and my body heating up at his dirty talk.

“That might be quite a feat. I don’t bend to others will easily,” I say, my eyes ping pong back and forth between his luscious lips and his heady gaze.

“Good. Complete submission right off is boring. Challenges are always welcome with you, Miss Bennet.”

The elevator dings and the doors slide open. Rhett moves back and takes my hand in his leading the way to his apartment door.

The entire time my pulse is racing with the anticipation he’s roused inside me. My breathing is escalated and just the touch of his hand on mine has all my nerve endings firing off like an elaborate fireworks show.

He lets us in and beelines it to his bedroom. I get flashes of high-end furniture and upgraded appliances and cabinets throughout as we pass by.

In his bedroom, he stops and commands me, “Don’t move, I’ll be right back.” Heading into his closet, he comes back with black rope neatly wound and tied off on itself.
