He tightened his arm around my shoulders and pulled me to him. My whole body tensed, and I squirmed, fighting the urge to push him away.

"Relax," he purred in my ear. "I'm not going to bite... yet" he breathed out slowly letting his warm breath caress the shell of my ear.

An uncontrollable shiver ran up my spine, causing my breath to catch in my throat, and I bit my bottom lip to stay quiet. He placed his hand on my knee, the heat penetrating deep inside, and I struggled not to move.

"Relax, micetta," he cooed, leaving his hand on my knee until I'd grown somewhat accustomed to the feeling, and he started rubbing little circles with his thumb. "That's it." His encouraging words helped me relax further and I blew out a breath.

He pushed farther by pulling my legs into his lap, gently massaging my calves as I sat awkwardly, finding it hard to relax so close to him.

"Man, I had no idea you were wound so tight. Has it beenthatlong since a man's touched you or is it just me who makes you so uncomfortable?"

"It hasn't beenthatlong," I said more defensively than I'd meant.

He raised a skeptical eyebrow. "How long has it been since you've slept with a man?"

"That's none of your business."

He ignored my response. "A year?"

"No," I snapped.

"Longer?" His voice lifted with curiosity.

"Fifteen months." I answered through clenched teeth.

"Oh, it's no wonder you're wound up like a top."

His hand drifted from my calves up to my knee and I jumped, pulling my legs out of his lap and sitting straight again. "That's enough."

"You're right. We should move on to kissing."

"Kissing?" My voice pitched.

"You don't think a real couple would kiss?"

"Not in front of my father."

"Fine. But you need to get accustomed to my touch so for the remainder of the trip, expect my hands on you," he warned, and all my breath left my lungs.

Alessandro wrapped his arm around my shoulders, and I forced myself not to pull away. In truth, however strange it felt to have him touching me, it also felt good. It had been a long time since I'd felt a pair of warm arms wrapped around me and even longer since I'd found them so comforting.

I steadied my breathing and focused on the warmth of his arms. My body finally began to relax just as we slowed to a stop.

"We're here," Alessandro removed his arm from around me and my body felt cold at the loss.

The driver opened his door and Alessandro slid out, offering me his hand so that I would follow.

Once I was out of the car, I expected him to release my hand, but he didn't. Even when I let go, he kept a hold on me. It didn't feel like before when he was trying to keep me from running, it was part of the affection he had mentioned. He said he wasn't going to take his hands off of me and he meant it.

Hand in hand, Alessandro led me to the plane and up the stairs. He didn't let go again until we were already seated in the luxurious jet. The same one we had flown in just two weeks before.

It wasn’t long before we were in the sky and the flight attendant brought us each a glass of champagne. It was a very different experience than the last time we’d flown together.

"So, when did you know that you wanted to become a doctor?"

"When I was seven."

"So young?"
