“Yep.” Bailey smiled. “Where do I sign?”

“King already took care of that for you. You are free to go.”

Bailey’s head snapped to mine, and her eyes narrowed. “You knew?”

I kept my mouth shut as I quickly ushered her out of the hospital before I needed a room for myself.

Chapter Twenty-Four

King

Life returned to normal. Well, as normal as possible with Bailey. My woman eventually settled and accepted my claim, then proceeded to tell me that if I ever left her, she would make my life a living hell.

I believed her.

Eventually, I talked her into moving in with me. We’ve been living together now for a few weeks and I enjoyed having her close. There was never a shortage of fun with Bailey around. My woman easily took to club life as if she were born to it. When not at her shop, or driving me insane, she spends her free time with her cousin Jamison, who is now a prospect for the club. When Jamison approached me with what he wanted, I brought the matter up for a vote.

The brothers instantly agreed.

Savannah kept her word and kept in touch with Bailey and Jamison. Though no longer protecting him, Jamison enjoys his weekly video chat with his former teacher and friend. She is making plans to visit during the fall.

Life was never dull with Bailey, that was for sure. My woman eventually gave in and told Scribe how he could remove the sharpie vagina tattoo, which promptly had my brother falling to his knees and kissing her feet. Life was good, and I was looking forward to what came next. Though I claimed Bailey, I wasn’t quite ready for the marriage market yet. Right now, I was enjoying getting to know her and surviving the day.

“King?”

Looking up from the papers on my desk, I saw Gunner standing in the doorway. “Got a minute?”

“Sure,” I said, waving him in. “What’s up?”

Gunner closed the door behind him and sat, taking a few minutes to gather himself before he said the last thing I thought he’d ever say. “I think I fucked up.”

“Gonna need more than that, Gunner?” I said, bracing myself for what he was going to say. With Gunner, I never knew. My brother had the uncanny ability to find himself in the worst positions on the planet, from unknowingly screwing a married woman to mistaking a Drag Queen for a real woman. Yeah, my brother isn’t the smartest of the Montclair brothers and thinks only with his dick.

“You know, I’ve been seeing Holly on and off since she’s been at college. Well, she’s graduated now.”

“Okay? What’s the problem?”

“She wants more.”

Ah. Now I got it. Gunner was the swinging dick of the family. He hated being contained, chained to something he could escape. He wasn’t made for long-term relationships. My brother loved pussy too much. It surprised me that what he had with Holly lasted as long as it did. I thought he would have just hit it and quit it, but their relationship lasted damn near four years. Not going to say he stayed faithful because I knew he didn’t. My brother was a man whore and owned it. He laid out the rules and made damn sure the women knew the score.

“And you don’t want more.”

“No. Don’t get me wrong. I like Holly. She’s fun in the sack and sucks a dick like a pro, but she’s talking crazy man. She wants to move in and eventually get married. I can’t marry her. I’m still a child!”

I chuckled at that.

Truer words were never spoken.

“Then break it off. I don’t see what the problem is.”

“The problem is, I may have inadvertently, not intending to, started seeing someone else who just happens to be neighbors with Holly. I’m so screwed. If she finds out about this other woman before I break it off with her, all hells gonna break loose, brother.”

Thinking for a minute, I tried to figure out who in the hell Gunner was talking about. I knew where Holly lived and the only neighbor close to her were Mike and Beth Brewer.

That stopped me short.

“Hold up. Please tell me you didn’t fuck Beth!”
