“This isn’t about Dahlia,” I told her firmly. “This is about you being the best part of my life. You belong with me. I want to have dinner with you every night and wake up to your beautiful doe eyes looking into mine every morning. I want to share my successes and failures with you. I want to chase away all of your fears and worries, and I plan on fulfilling all of your dreams and desires. I want to know every part of your mind, body, and soul. You are mine, Bianca. And as soon as we can, I plan on having you in my bed, wrapped around my cock in every which way I can bend you.”

“Atlas!” She blushed, looking away, but I grabbed her chin and forced her to meet my eyes.

“You belong with me, Bianca.”

Her face was so red, it showed tinges of purple.

“But she doesn’t belong with you, Atlas. She’s mine, and so is her sister.”

Fucking Jesse.

I didn’t release Bianca, but I turned to confront him, my nakedness slipping away to reveal my furred body once more.

“You want to come for me, Jesse, come for me,” I urged him in my half-shifted form. “Give me the pleasure of ripping your face off.”

I fully shifted and began to circle him, locking eyes with the tiger, and I could taste his wariness on my tongue.

“You can’t do this,” Jesse warned. “You’ll lose everything!”

I barked back, baring my fangs.

He tittered lightly. “You can’t kill me, Atlas. The spell Gabriel cast forbids you from causing me harm.”

I growled, licking my chops as I inched closer.

He tried to scoff, but continued to step back as I neared him. He was right, however. Even if I wanted to kill him—which I did—I wouldn’t be able to do it.

He couldn’t die at my hands.

“I have a legally binding contract for Bianca and Dahlia,” Jesse insisted. “I will sue you into the ground, and given the troubles you’re already having, I don’t think you can afford to antagonize me, can you, Atlas?”

I showed the rest of my teeth and snarled, biting at the air near his face. Yelping, he tripped back.

“If you go now, Atlas, maybe I’ll forget this whole thing. Who knows? Maybe you’ll even find that the fates are kind to you, and you’ll have better luck with the curse going forward.”

I was stuck. As much as my primal instincts roared to rip every piece of flesh from Jesse’s body, he was right—I couldn’t do anything.

I shifted back to my human form, ready to take Bianca back home.

“We’re leaving,” I agreed, nodding toward my mate. “Let’s go, Bianca.”

She moved toward me, but suddenly, Jesse reached out and grabbed her by the neck, forcing a cry of surprise from Bianca’s mouth.

“Not so fast!” Jesse hissed. “If I can’t have her, no one is going to take her.”

My instinct was to pounce and tear him to shreds, but he anticipated my move, his claws extracting to wedge against Bianca’s pounding throat. Terror flooded her face, and I was forced to keep my simmering fury in check.

“Don’t be foolish, Jesse. You are testing the limits of my patience,” I rasped, inching closer. “Unhand her.”

“She legally belongs to me. Her and her twin! There is nothing you can do about it, Atlas. No matter how many times you take her, it will always be you who is doing the kidnapping. She is mine. Fair and square.”

He smirked then, and Bianca’s complexion turned translucent as she met my eyes.

“Go on, Atlas. There’s nothing you can do here but cause more chaos. You should try to run home and salvage what you can of your, ahem, empire.”

He burst into laughter, driving Bianca closer to him, and a red veil fell over my eyes. There was no putting the lid back on this bubbling cesspool now.
