“Thanks, Dariush…my soon to be brother,”I added with a wink after he had made his way to the door and was looking back at me. In response to this, he bowed his head respectfully as if my words had meant something to him as much as his own had meant to me. Then he left me to my own devices, starting with taking a look in the full-length mirror, seeing all the armor I still wore and asking myself,

“Now how the Hell am I going to get out of this stuff?”

Thankfully, my sanity was soon saved and shortly after this my silent prayers were answered as Nero knocked on the door. This was to find me jumping up and down, twisting as I did as if this would help in ridding me of this chest plate.

“Oh, forget killing a God and chopping his head off, now this is the bad ass look you should have been going for… what do you call it, the dance of death?” she commented with a smirk, now leaning against the door frame, crossing her arms and ankles casually.

“Jeez, would you look at that, comedians made it to Hell after all.” She laughed at this, now pushing off the frame and kicking the door closed. Oh, and thank the Gods she did as she was now coming to my aid.

“You know I will need your help getting all this shit back on… right?”

“Just call me your fairy Godmother… speaking of which, I thought you could do with some of my fairy dust by now.” She said lifting up a little leather pouch and waving it at me. Which was when I realized, my eyesight was still fine.

“That’s strange, my eyes seem fine,” I told her after narrowing them as if to test my vision further.

“Umm, perhaps you don’t need it anymore.”

“Like Peter Parker when he becomes Spiderman?” I asked, making her scrunch up her beautiful face, causing the tattooed white line and blue symbols down the center of her chin to crinkle.

“Who?” At this my mouth dropped open in disbelief.

“Seriously? You don’t know who Spiderman is?” I asked in a horrified tone.

“Is he like some creepy Demon with eight legs or something?” she asked, making me jerk back in shock.

“Well, he is this super… you know what, so not important right now,” I said, deciding it was one mortal conversation that could most likely wait. Especially when the door opened and I saw a line of servants enter, the same girls I recognized as being the ones who had assisted me when I had first been brought here. Each of them, were also carrying steaming urns on their shoulders, no doubt ready to fill the copper bath that I could see was situated behind a papery thin screen that looked beyond pointless. What was it made from, tissue paper?

The rest of the room was more like something out of a medieval castle, with what was known as a tester bed clearly being the focal point of the room. It had four thick posts that were highly decorative carved black wood, with a carved canopy supported high above the on a frame. On closer inspection, the carvings all depicted scenes of Hell with souls rising from a river of fire. Which didn’t exactly surprise me in Lucius’s realm, not considering it was named the Kingdom of Death.

I mean, what else was it supposed to be, garden scenes and ladies frolicking in meadows? No, I didn’t think so. As for the rest of the room, it was decorated in much the same way, with furniture to match the bed and walls of stone that were adorned with tapestries of Hellish battle scenes. Ones, it had to be noted, that were not that dissimilar than the one I had not long ago witnessed and played an integral role in. Unsurprisingly in a place like this, if there was any theme of color to speak of, it was black and red. With all the fabrics used in the place being the color of blood with black brocade thorns. Strangely, the room actually matched my dress. Umm… wonder if that had been on purpose?

As for the bath, just the smell of hot water and whatever oils they had used, and I was near breaking my nails just to get the battle element to this dress off me quicker. Thankfully Nero sensed this desperate need in me to be clean and battered my hands away so as she could do the job herself. Then once I was alone and, thank the Gods, naked, I sank down into the bath with Nero promising to come back later after I had gotten some rest. I swear the sound I made, anyone else would have thought I wasn’t alone and someone else was in here helping me bathe.

I knew Lucius was in Heaven, but this right here, well it felt as if I was right there with him. A thought that made me warmer than the water I was now bathing in. Gods, but I missed him and it hadn’t even been a whole day yet. In fact, once I had finished with the bath, doing so only when the water went cold, I had thought I would have trouble sleeping. But once my head hit the pillow, this turned out not to be the case at all.

Ironic, seeing as I slept like the dead in this Kingdom of Death.

In fact, it was only the smell of food that started to rouse me from my sleep and as I opened my eyes, I found Nero circling what looked like a bowl of stew in front of me. She was also wafting the steam from it towards my face.

“Yep, I knew that would do it.” She sniggered as soon as I quickly sat up and looked near wild in my desperation for food, practically snatching the bowl from her.

“I’m glad you like it, it’s…” This was when I held up my spoon and said,

“I’m going to stop you right there and tell you I really don’t want to know.”

“You don’t?”

“That depends, do you have a shit load of Demonic cow farmers around Hell that I don’t yet know about?” At this she smirked and commented,

“Point made, human… although, that term isn’t really applicable anymore, is it.”

“Yeah, well applicable or not, if you tell me these floating balls of meat once belonged on a Demon named Jeff, I will freak, and we are talking the vomit variety freak-out here.” At this she burst out laughing and I soon joined her.

But that had been two days ago and like she did every morning, she came and helped me to get redressed in all my ‘Queeny get up’ so as I was ready for my day on the throne. My Queeny get up had been missing one thing before that first day, something Dariush had been sure to hand me before taking my place on the throne for the first time.

Needless to say, I was shocked but managed not to embarrass myself in front of ‘Lucius’s court’ on my first day. So, I simply accepted it with what I hoped was a regal nod of my head.

Which meant that I was now looking like the Queen I hoped Lucius would be proud of finding sitting on his throne when he returned. And speaking of a King finally returning, the second I finally heard those massive doors open at the end, I just couldn't help myself. Not when they were now being pushed open by the man himself awarding me with the delicious sight of my Vampire King in all his dark and foreboding glory.
