“Okay, then. Are you really a doctor?” I can’t help the bite in my voice as I ask.

“Yes, I am. I was always a good student, got into a great university, an excellent medical school, crushed my residency, and all in record time. I’m more than qualified to look after you, if that’s what you’re worried about.” He crosses his arms in front of his chest, and I don’t want him to think I was insulting him.

“No, that’s not what I was thinking at all. I’m just surprised. How old are you?”

“Old enough.”

“You seriously won’t even fucking tell me how old you are?” Wade’s eyes widen at my attitude change, and I try to recover. “I just mean, come on. You obviously know so much about me, and you can’t even tell me anything about you? Don’t I deserve some information?”

“I’m not sure what you deserve yet.” He gets up and quickly walks to the door.

“Wait, wait. I think I am hungry. Could you bring me something to eat, please?”

“Sure.” I watch him leave and remind myself to chill out.

Wade comes back into the room a couple of minutes later with a peanut butter and jelly sandwich, chips, carrot sticks, water, and juice. My stomach actually does grumble at the sight of it.

“Why don’t you move back to the bed. It’ll be easier to set the tray down and eat.”

I carefully hop down from the window seat and sit against the headboard before digging into the sandwich. This is actually one of my favorite things to eat, and I’m sure he knows that. “Thank you for this.”

“You’re welcome.” He nods at me and continues to watch me as I eat.

I don’t know how to get him talking again, so I focus on the food and hope something comes to me. I finish the sandwich in record time and need to slam the water and juice to clear my mouth and throat of all the peanut butter. Wade has been leaning against the wall by my window seat, but he moves forward and grabs the tray.

“Hey, I wasn’t done—“ Suddenly, my vision starts to get blurry, and I feel dizzy.

My body slumps down onto the bed, and I can’t stop it.This motherfucker. I see the shape of him move toward the door and hear a soft, “I’m sorry,” before everything turns dark.

Wadewasn’tplanningondrugging her again so soon, and he feels bad about it for some reason. She’s clearly agitated, which is understandable, but she needs to know she isn’t going to outsmart us or trick one of us into helping her. Wade must look like the weak link and her best chance at getting out of here. Well, she’s very wrong. You don’t end up where he is and endure the things he has by being weak. She’ll know that now.

We’re all still in the living room, waiting for him to come back out. He told us his suspicions when he came out and made Rory her sandwich. We backed his idea completely, as we always do. As Wade stands before us, he surprises me.

“We should send the ring to Brendan tomorrow. I want it covered in her blood, so they can test it against her DNA and confirm that it’s hers.”

“Fuck yeah, man. Let’s do it.” I jump up from the couch with my knife at the ready.

Wade holds his hand up to slow me down for a second. “Yeah, I think we should get the blood from her now while she’s sleeping, but I could do a simple blood draw and pour it over the ring.”

I nod my head. “You could do that, yes, but that’s really boring and depriving some of us of the opportunity to play with her.”

“I don’t know if unleashing you with a knife on her is in anyone’s best interests. Sometimes you lose control.” Wade is the one that says it, but I can tell by the looks on Gray’s and Hayes’ faces that they agree with him.

“Okay, fine. Let’s make it a group activity. I get to have some fun, and you’ll all be right there in case you need to pull me back. Sound good?”

“Well, you know I’m a sucker for some blood play, so let’s do it.” I can always count on Gray to get in on this shit with me.

Wade sighs, and Hayes pats him on the back before I push them out of the way and head for Rory’s room. She really does look like a princess, sprawled out and sleeping in her royal bed. Her blonde hair is extra shiny after being washed, her cheeks have a rosy pink glow, and I’m sure if we opened her window, a variety of forest creatures would find their way to her. It’s adorable. I pull out my phone and snap a picture. I can use it later, and I can send it to Mal for our next update.

“Before you go crazy, we’re going to do this the right way.” Wade walks around me and examines Rory’s arms, probably trying to decide the best place to cut her, but I have my own ideas.

“Why can’t I cut her in multiple spots? I’ll leave everything shallow, so they don’t scar.” I push my lip out and pout, which never works.

“It’ll take too many cuts all over her body if you do it that way.” I don’t think Wade intentionally tried to get my dick hard, but here we are.

“So? She’s knocked the fuck out. You can play doctor after and bandage her all up. We know how much you love doing that.”
