She shifts her weight, sliding a leg around so that she’s straddling me.

“You seem to know a lot about me.”
“I had a lot of time to research. Years.”
“Why bother?”
“Because you were always my favorite subject,” I confess, carefully studying his reaction.
His face is deadpan, as it so often is.
